He was a beautiful dog, so sad you lost him to cancer. I lost my boxer to spinal cancer in 2009, it's devastating!

I now have an 18 month old rottie called beefy (Its very suiting!! Lol) and a 2 year old boxer called Keiko

Our rottie chats all day long, he is hilarious, iv never had a bond with a dog like iv had with him either and I LOVE and live for my pets!!! Beautiful dogs xxxx

They r the perfect dog to have I remember times when I had a bad day in Highschool and would come home and right at the door was my Rott and she would sit with me and snuggle till I felt better even if it was all night

My rottweiler made those sounds too. It was just her voice. They tend to have deep voices and it scares people. People would run from her because they thought she was vicious.

My neighbor had a rottweiler/doberman mix whose tail was undocked. They do look friendlier that way.

Levi (the talking one) sadly dosnt have a tail, but our younger one has one. The difference in the appearance is shocking, thet look so much more friendly, in fact you can understand why they like to dock them as they look far more forboding without a tail to wag!!! Our 'tailed' version never stops wagging!!

That's one of the cutest things about a docked tail though. My Rotty has a docked tail and I just think it's so cute to see that little stub wagging all the time. You see a little rottie tail wag and it just makes you want to giggle!! ^_^

They originally docked the tail bc Rotty's were bred to be cattle herding dogs & this prevented them from getting their tails stomped on & then getting pulled underneath the cattle & being trampled to death. It's not to make them look mean but to prevent them from getting hurt. We live on the farm and sometimes she pushes it a bit far and the cows do stomp at her so I'm glad she has no tail. I think it's cool that she still has that natural instinct to herd cattle to.

This is my second. The first actually had a much hairier tail. It looked similar to an Irish Setters' and it looked very odd O_o! I mean, it's not every day you see a Rottie with a tail let alone a long hairy one.

That is awesome. Ours does that too, but a little more pronounced. She has 3 or 4 distinct patterns when talking to us. Hard to describe, but I swear she's a human trapped in a dogs body.

Yeahh , for a big while I thought Rottweillers were born naturally with no tail (or the shorty thing that's left) and then you see that no, actually it's the people who cut the tail. Same for Dobermans, tail and ears are cut... I think it doesn't help to the dogs images. Anyway, he's a talky indeed, I love how the jack russel comes and acts like "dude, you're talking too much" ;p .

i no the dog personally and he's a credit to the type of breed and so are the owners of him. He wouldn't hurt a fly and i think so may dogs are classed as "dangerous" dogs because of there owners who dont look after them properly. x
