  • There voices still sound so Amazing wow

  • perfect for their reunion. they squandered more than their resistance in all those years of alienation. their music is such a gift.

  • I take it back. beautiful

  • you can see the hate between them! So prickly! Ouch!

  • @Wankshaftsbury ..what are talking about?

  • almost like time stands still!!

  • Still sounds just as great as it did so many years ago.

  • In this version the "extended" lines are included "... after changes we are more or less the same"

  • Muito bom mesmo.

  • I saw Art live in Scotland a ew yrs ago What a K[ck

    Love you both

  • "we're gonna do the boxer, if thats ok"....

Art, you could do "Friday" and it would still be ok

  • 43 people don't like travis picking

  • just wonderfuL!!!!

  • One of my favourite bands of all time. Had i not known who they were I would have said these 2 old fellas can sing pretty well. maybe they should make a record.

  • judgedreadmusic

  • I remember this particular night, and if I'm not mistaken it was also where Dave first announced he was becoming a father, hence the baby-jokes.

  • Amazing! The older I get, the more beautiful and relevant the song becomes, and the more emotion I see from Art and Simon. This could be our national anthem. It recognizes success and failure and and celebrates our drive to mpve forward and succeed Bravo-guys!

  • You guys in the S&G generation had it good.

  • nice q song.. my father fave song

  • Mightydyckerson you are an asshole. That's all you are learn to respect good music not bash on it

  • Great to see the lad's singing together again, brings me back to my youth and my Bridge over troubled water album Thankyou

  • celestial :°°°)

  • @mightydyckerson you sir, have no taste at all. these men are real musicians. nothing like whatever it is you probably listen to. if you dont like it, then please have some respect and keep your mouth shut.

  • @DWebs43 Don't tell me about respect, asshole. I have forgotten more about music than you'll ever know.

  • @DWebs43 Don't worry about him, he's just a troll who comments the same thing on every simon and garfunkel video. He just wants a rise out of people. Immature for sure, but don't waste energy on stupidity.

  • they have voices like warm loving syrup that your mind just falls into.

  • Think about it... Do you know how anyone could ever listen to this and click "dislike"?

  • 2 guys,a guitar and GREATNESS

  • Cheeses H. Crust- Listening to these guys makes me feel like the past 30-40 yrs have been one... Long. Bad. Dream...

  • Words "after changes upon changes we are more or less the same" have never been more true.

Wish they would tour one more time!

  • I would love to hear Justin Bieber sing The Boxer! I believe that he could give a good rendition of it.

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966

Yes, and Steve Tyler would make a good version of Baby.

  • @GirlFromIpanema1966 get lost

  • Doe's they NEVER loose their voices?????? They could be mummyfied and hung up in the sun for a year and still sing with the purest voices... ipressive!

  • two old men never seemed more attractive

  • one of the best ever. strange earlobe-less feature on paul

  • art has got a very deep voice for singing high harmonies, he nails all of 'em every time... epic!!!

  • Somethings get better with age. These boys are timeless. Love you guys. Mmmm I can't decide which one of you to dream about :-)

  • 3:52 - oops, Art...missed the breath there. STILL, though, what a song. This duo personifies original music melody.

  • Harmonies don't get better than Simon and Garfunkel. I mean really, who compares to them in this day and age?

  • that was AMAZING

  • They added a new verse. Cool.

  • @harrypalms1112 Not really it was a missing verse since they wrote the song. See ''The Boxer'' in their 1981 Central Park Concert.

  • Probably swearing in church, but I really prefer this version with just the guitar, and the additional lyrics. Don't really care for the various sound effects in the original recording, but that's just IMHO ofc :)

  • @DoliSkipper I agree completely!

I've heard their tunes so many different ways, but my favorites are always the simple version.

They sound so good even after decades! I wonder if they still tour?

  • DANG!! Thirty years later (or whatever it is) and these guys voices still sound MINT. Very inspiring.

  • *Speechless*

  • yup. amazing.

  • 40 dislikes out of nearly 2 million views! Happy to say I'm one of the 2 million but not one of the 40 :-)

  • The only time I heard Letterman offer to be the opening act .. HAHA! Simon and Garfunkel should've held Dave to that.. it would have made an even awesome experience! HAHAHAHAHAH!

  • im irish , german , and , english, but the jewish people are the most gifted in music , singing and writing. wait, then again, there was lennon an McArtney, so i guess i dont know what Im talking about..i didnt mean to offend anyone, ifI did.

  • You can't hate this song unless your mother forced you to listen to that like a million times when you were a kid or something! kkkkkkkkkkkkkk Not my case, I love it!

  • Maestros

  • Love the hair Art : ) Why mess with something that has worked for him for half a century?

  • bravo-braVO-braVO-braVO-braVO-1000!!!

  • Exceptional...

  • 39 people just have different music taste.... leave the fuckers alone lol

  • Very good Simon and Garfunkel Cover you can find at:

    graceland-online.de

  • this is my soul music. hands together, deep bow.

  • Lovely.

  • One of the bests duets of all times.

  • Os melhores...

  • Wonderful. A point in time to experience.

  • Hands down, one of the greatest songs ever written. Timeless. Enough said.

  • I don't know any other two people whose voices match as perfect as these two.

  • Oh-my-god what a shock...seeing these gentlemen being aged already.....and despite my expectations before they started the song.....they make the magic even bigger...deep respect.

  • this music has helped me stay alive thanks.

  • COUNTER reads 37 RETARDS in the world as of today.

  • 37 people didn't think it was ok to sing The Boxer

  • They can sing whatever they want, damm!

  • If that's OK?! Serious? They could continue to sing non stop for centuries,.. only fools might complain.

  • These two can call me a whore any day everyday and I would feel honored ^^

  • 37 missclicks.....

  • Most everyones' voices fade and grow weary over time..... Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow, Elton John. Simon and Garfunkle's voices are still as pure as the first day they recorded their songs. Yes... they ARE National and HUMAN Trasures!

  • amazing voices together!

  • Good to see that they are OK that their voices aren't the same as in their youth. Sounds just as good though. Garfunkel's speaking voice always amazes me. He should have done sitcom TV.

  • - if ten songs were allowed!!! - fantasic!!

  • What a joy it is to see such talent on display. It's such a shame that no talent exists these days..

  • @mctalks jeez man these guys are fantastic but you cant seriously think that there is no talent at all these days. Take the avett brothers for example. Beautiful poets just as Simon and Garfunkel were. Different genre, same talent.

  • ""

  • For absolute classic masterpieces like this, the 'dislike button' is really an 'I'm stupid button'. So far 34 people formally declared to be stupid. Thanks for letting us know.

  • @pacechiuprio You have right.

  • When is this clip from ?

  • einfach wahnsinn diese stimmen

  • how the fuck can they sing with those freaking awesome voices? even now their voices are true and I DONT KNOW! the used to be and they still be the greatest duo..

  • Art is so cool.

  • 34 people should cry out in anger and in shame!

  • can you just imaging these two sitting in your back yard at bbq and saying i know a song any one got a guitar we can use while the sun sets.......

  • I hate this kinda music, but this song is so hauntingly beautiful.

  • thank you for the music.

  • Masterful! Thank you, guys...childhood friends who know well the bond.

  • A CLASSIC!!

  • must have been great times, when only your voice mattered and not huge stage shows nowadays with the music as a minor matter :/

  • Are there REALLY people who do NOT like this song and this performance of it ? I mean, come on.

  • This song always brings tears to my eye's. Remember when vocal harmonies were real? Remember when people could actually sing? I do.

  • @destroysanity there are still bands that do that. for example, Rise Against uses no pitch fixers or anything like that on their voices recording and live. as do Relient K and Coldplay and Mumford and Sons. those people are just not as common.

  • wow... new lyrics...

  • @Ukuleleboy100 the new lyrics you refer to are actually old lyrics that they sometimes put in some of their performances. They could goddam sing any lyrics and they would still sound incredible. Class beyond belief

  • would like to know the 34 embesils who disliked

  • @orhan07 ben de

  • Never tire of these classic icons of music, God bless them!

  • Changes after changes we're more or less the same... And yes S&G will always be the same..... The Best!

  • Changes after changes we're more or less the same... And yes S&G will always be the same..... The Best!

  • AWESOME~!~!~!~!~!~

  • It's really weird how a simple song like this one with nothing playing but a guitar can be so magnificent, one of the most meaningful songs I've ever listened to.

    Thank you S&G....

  • @AbdinP51 agreed, its unbelievable

  • You know your music commands respect when the audience sits in stone silence while you perform. Classic

  • Simon and Garfunkel will always be the best.

Even after all these years they sound like they´ve just written the song and try it in their humble apartment... EPIC.

  • Harmonies to die for

  • This song remains as brilliant as it was when it came out on Bridge. Musically it is a simple as you can get - just basic C chords. But Paul turned it into a major work with so many meanings. And I love that extra verse in the middle! Genius!

  • As good as it looks, Art is actually wearing a hairpiece. There are pics of him without it if you search. You'd never recognize him. Legends.

  • @spsamp

Art's wearing a hairpiece???? You're kidding. Is there any way to verify that?

  • @JustAnotherDeadBody

    Google "art garfunkel bald"

  • Time it was, and what a time it was, it was

A time of innocence, a time of confidences

Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph

Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you

    .

  • funny to see how Art 's hairdo is still the same as 40 years ago ;p

  • They are great.

  • Absolute Brilliance. These two great jewish boys from New York.

Wish my voice sounds so brilliant in 15 years time.

Would love to see them both. And what a wonderful collection of music they have already left us.Do you remember Old Friends.

Well I treasure their Albums forever.

  • wie ASIG!!! Die waren mal echt KUlt!! Weiss Simon eigentlich noch wie man sich als MENSCH bewegen darf, oder konrolliert das, wie so manches auch die USA!!??? FUCK!!!! Und Art macht den ganzen job...schöööönes ding....aber wenigstens hat er noch stimme, und vor allem einen Ansatz an Performance....FUS....go away and kiss the ass from my god!!!!!

  • @bully769 weet je wat je beter kan doen? Gewoon normaal praten.

  • simon and garfunkel can t do this wrong, superb. yet i like the interpretation of bob dylan a lot as well. I think i had it on a white tape - in my teenage years. the poor sound quality made his performance even sound better...

  • AMAZING!!

  • Garfunkle says "We thought we do the boxer if thats okay with you" with such a whiskey voice i was so confident that this is going to be a bad version compared to the younger simon&garfunkle but seriously this was a masterpiece.

"After changes, after changes.. We are more or less the same.."

I give you guys that. Cool!

  • Comment removed

  • their voices blend so magically....after all these years....still two of the best!

  • Fantastic that they still can do it this good.

  • Music gets no better than this masterpiece

  • this is one wish i had since my teens to see them live on stage.... how I wish they can have concert tour in manila,,, or at least in singapore or hk, where I can have a chance, Really will save for it. I just love these guys !

  • A legendary duo. One can barely aspire to reach a tenth of that level. This performance is MASTERCLASS. If you have time, check the cover of The Boxer on my channel.

  • Old people in the 50's hated Elvis. Old people in the 60's hates S&G and the Beatles. In the 70's old people hated Led Zeppelin.

Simon and Garfunkel are great. Don't turn them into a reason to complain about music that you're too old to appreciate.

  • one word...BRILLIANT!

  • 40 years later, I am with Paul: "After changes upon changes I am more or less the same."

  • I thank Heavenly Father for making me in old times , today, nobody makes good music like the old ones. Today, everyone makes music based on sex, drugs and politics. This generation of this a shit today. The generation of the years 50, 60, 70, and 80 were and always will be better.

    --- Brazil ---

  • i was so lucky i was brought up with this brilliant music.nobody else wouldnt even go close matching this

  • @thejoker8699 you must feel sorry for people like me.. 28 yrs of age and wandering around like a lost sheep trying to find music that is 1/4 off what this is. you are lucky

  • There are bands the world over from amateur to professional, from folk to heavy metal, who wish they knew how to harmonise like this. Real talent is timeless

  • yeeeeeaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh go on there lads! i love you. always amazing.

  • I was only 12 years old, when I tried to sing this song. Not easy for a german girl used to speak only some broken school english.

    This was 40 years ago...

Now the years are rolling by me, they are rocking eavenly. Now I am older than I was was and younger than I be, that's not unusual. No it isn't strange - after changes I am more or less the same ;-))

But after having lived in the US I speak better english now than I used to.

What beautifull lyrics!!! Thanks to both of you!!!

  • Tiki Barber! This degenerate left his 8 month pregnant Asian wife, for a 23 year old white home wrecker/slut. I guess he is not into black nappy head hos.LOL

  • @lp32862 so...you see race in everything, eh/...what a sad person you must be.

  • this is real passion!

  • THOSE TWO BLUE COLOR SOULS ... THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS !!!

  • Paul Simon is without question, one of the finest acoustic guitar players on the planet.

  • so lovely

  • Art says, "We'll do 'The Boxer' if that's okay," and I thought, "You guys can do any f---ing song you want!" These guys are more than national treasures, they're human treasures.

  • @jtdavis62 i got goosebumps when i read that comment. that's a first for me. nice.

  • @jtdavis62

Thank you for your post. I think I'll sit back now with my scotch and maybe shed a tear in the dark w/o the wife seeing my weakness...

  • @jtdavis62 Amen brother

  • @jtdavis62 They are one of the few worldwonders.

  • @jtdavis62 human treasures.

    Here Spain

  • Thank You For Posting This!

  • could you imagine winning the hearts of millions and millions with nothing more than their voices, fingers and their imaginations... 2 legends I'd like to see more of in these later years while we still have them.

think it'd be worth a thumbs up?

  • Comment removed

  • people with 'thumbs down' probably got herpes from the whores on 7th avenue.

  • lol look at them sitting the same way, now thats called friendship :)

  • I feel very honored to be able to say Paul and Art"s music, has been of great inspiration in my life. Genius of music.

  • I cannot say it anything that would compare to usatennispro bellow me, that was very beautifully said, and written. I too feel exactly the same....

And to myunicon....don't worry about those who don't hear, or appreciate like we do...some can-not appreciate real talent, and that's fine...we all cannot be the same....thank God! (lol) And, to S&G thank you for many years of much loved music.

  • @jahovarenay1 you've expressed yourself with your feelings, and I thank you for your thoughts, thank you for sharing you. Greg usatennispro

  • 34 people heard but did not listen

  • Just like 40 years ago : 2 guys, 1 guitar... 2 such good voices...
