the question is not who would collect ak47's but who would want to collect gayr15's. im also an ak47 guy & the im better than you ar guys rub me the wrong way, lets see an ar15 cycle with muddy steel cased Russian ammo & a hand full of dirt in the receiver.
thanks for the vid. you should check out this book by michael hodges "AK 47 the story of a gun" if you haven't already. has a X-ray picture of a underfolder on it. i never finished a book so fast, has a bunch of small stories of the gun from all over the world in different wars.
I want to get a copy of that back issue of Guns 'n Ammo "From the Cold War to Iraq" on the AK 47! THAT looks like an awesome read. You said you had to special order it, from who Guns 'n Ammo or a distributor? How much? How long did you wait? Thanks!
I bought it on their website (gun & ammo) and it was no more than the cover price, It took a few days, or a week.. I didn't wait too long for it at all
I hear that other than the Russian-made AK's, Bulgaria was a good producer of AK rifles. Them and Yugoslavia (M70). Is that why Bulgarian AK's are more expensive?
"there is no such thing as AK-47. There was in 1947 one of the prototyphe version (slightly different than nowadays) but there was ak48 and ak49 ass well.
What russian army have is AK and AKM with no year or any number. And these is proper name for these gun."

Well.. I think that debate will go on for a long time..
Don't tell anyone from Poland the Bulgarian AKs are the best, LOL
But I like ANY factory made AK.. so Chinese, Bulgarian, Yugo, Hungry, Poland, (list all the other countries here)
All of these are about equal in my book
Well equal after Russia..
As far as stuff in the US.. well we sort of get the scraps, and stuff made from the scraps, so it depends on the builder
Sorry I can't offer one or two specifics.. but that's a big question..

You probably know is it true?:

What russian army have is AK and AKM with no year or any number. And these is proper name for these gun."
I read these in some profesional gun magazine.
