common or copes? also do some tadpoles have black lines under their eyes? please look at my vid "are my tadpoles rana or hyla" and tell me if they are gray treefrogs (which I suspect) I would really appreciate it!
Have bunches in backyard, hanging around pool at night and up in my lime green umbrella during the day. They sit up in the wooden spines and come back year after year. I've raised a bunch of tadpoles to froggies by using special tadpole food pellets sold at pet stores. Also like raw or boiled lettuce and dead bugs that land in their water. Clean water, using de-chlorinated water and put algae and old stuff from bottom back in. Put rocks high enough as to get out, otherwise they'll drown.
That was really helpful. I've got some that were in my pool cover. We had to drain it so we removed the tadpoles and I wasn't sure what to feed them. Thanks!
i read something that you cant release hand raised grey's into the wild, something out there eating habits, i know its a hard reintroduction for any frog, but i was told never to release one back into the wild after feeding it alot, i hope they made out alright though, some people just try to scare others because they thinks its cruel to raise frogs in captivity
@UnrealLeaton - Great video! :) My little Son began building a toy village a couple years ago in my backyard with working waterways, canals and pools, and, purely by accident, gray tree frogs began laying eggs in the pools of water that remained. They will descend from the nearby trees in May and do their thing. Now, we have so many of these wonderful frogs in the trees that every evening during late spring - thru summer, sounds like an amphibian choir. They're neat little creatures! :)
Great video! How did you find the eggs? This is June 20 and we have a gray tree frog making love calls on our front deck. VERY LOUD! I live in upstate NY and used the sound of a youtube gray tree frog calling ant e one on our deck responded!
it was bout 400 eggs and tadpoles really.... and yea I let them go when they got old enough will legs and bout to lose tail.. but it took bout maybe 3 months or so... till the egg till they got legs
