Public accounting is just a joke. You get put on clients and no one has any idea what is going on. You get worked like a dog and get no recognition. I could go on and on and on. It is one of the most miserable jobs that you can have and the fact you need a degree to work there makes it that much more disgusting.
#1 "measuring staff by chargeable hours". My firm pays overtime, and I could not be more frustrated to see other staff members get paid overtime for working 60 hour weeks to do what I do in 40 hours, and get shit on for not working overtime myself. The better you get as a staff member the harder you are worked, the less you get compensated for it, and the more you hate your job. By the time they tell you you could be a manager, you want nothing to do with it, because you don't want to be them.
