But seriously, good job. Scott Joplin and I share a birthday, but I've only played Maple Leaf Rag and The Entertainer by him, the two rags all pianists play, haha!
@TurquoiseStar17 lol surprisingly same here and got the sheets for it then but couldnt play it then :-( skillz are better now but it gets stuck in my head after i play it...
I think the game you're thinking of is Roller Coaster Tycoon 2.
You could make a ride play this song by going to the music tab in the ride's control panel, then selecting "Ragtime".
I first heard this song on that game as well, but I just thought it was a song that the creators wrote. Just today I felt like listening to ragtime, so I tried to do a google on it. I screwed up and searched "Search ragtime" though, and that song popped up. It was crazy.
hah, i heard this song on one of my computer games, did a little research and found its name. you play it just like the recording- perfectly. thanks a lot!
What a marvelous rendition of Searchlight! Thank you so very much for posting one of Scott Joplin's lesser known pieces. Joplin's music is some of the happiest, good-natured, and enjoyable music I've ever heard. Please post every Joplin piece you can and I will ask my friends to listen I am spreading Joplin's music across the land like a snowfall of goodwill! Thank you for making that possible! Good job!
Very nice tempo and flow to the Searchlight Rag. Keep up more postings. I was at the WCRF, you should try to make it next year. IT has an amazing line up of rag players.
What part of the country are you in? Are you able to attend any of the ragtime festivals? If you have that sort of dedication, you could become One Of Us -- heheh!
Myself and others are beginning to post clips from this past weekend's West Coast Ragtime Festival.
I'm in the Southwest area, and I heard about the West Coast Ragtime Festival on a website and I just realized it was just last week when you said that.
You play this ABSOLUTELY beautifully! and i haven't found any videos with this rag played at this particular speed. Very well done

I can't play the piano, but there's just no way you can hate this one. It's a masterpiece. It's addictive.

It's my favorite too. From an equal great game. I plan to learn this on piano, and thanks for the inspiration for showing that it's possible XD

is this an electric piano?
MazuneDavonari 3 years ago
No, It's just an acoustic piano with lots of random carved in buttons and a fake, deceiving LCD display in the middle.
:)
Of course it is electric!

Nice job. Good proper "slow march tempo" too. Most people posting Joplin videos see only the word "slow" and not the word "march" after it.

Thank you :) I practice Ragtime a lot so I make sure i pay attention to that stuff to get it right.
