  • This is basically "Ace of Spades" with a different arrangement, they are both great but AOS has got a darker edge.

  • That's it! Making a Link Wray playlist.

  • Now I know why I like early cramps so much!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Mr715BA Just wondering if The Meteors were influenced.

  • Back then in Link Wray's times, the only folks who had weed were the black folks!

  • I discovered Link after reading the Robert Gordon interview in PUNK #12 and buying "Rock Billy Boogie" then "Robert Gordon with Link Wray."

  • you hear this in this in 1958 you'll had an isntant urge to wreck and burglar the town's pharmacy.

  • @y0cables Or in 2011!

  • mash patato

  • that is a pretty fuckin good milkshake

  • link is god! roughshod! deuces wild! hillbilly wolf!

  • My favourite by Link Wray is called Rumbleshock.

  • Nice song to start a cool night with drinking, rock 'n' roll and girls!

  • Straight out of Durham, NC. Fatback is where it's at in NC

  • What an F'N genius!!!

  • ace of spades´ little sister....

  • this song makes me want to chill man

  • Link's style was so aggressive - I wonder if he was that way in person. Judging from his music, he sounds like he'd just as soon knife you as play for you... what a bad ass. Before his time, that's for certain.

  • @GeorgiaBoy1961 Before his time ??? more exactly of his time, listen to the ventures and the shadows of the time, Link was THE man but he was very much of his time with this music.

  • @stinkwheel he invented the power chord, he was an inspiration for many guitar greats, Page, Clapton, Hendrix, Jeff Beck.

  • this looks alot of his other song called Ace of Spades...

  • link wray is awesome

  • shut up you faggot

  • Thanx Bro! I am gonna slice open some faggots belliee..and he's got it comin...

  • sounds just like ace of spades

  • Hey, Man you gotta help me! Those guys are after my ass, Man, give me your switch!!

  • Now here we have one very bad man!

  • ever since i watched roadracers i seriously love link wray and johnny renos music ! lol

  • When this music was first made, many people called it "surf music". Personally, I think this genre of music (late 1950s-early 1960s) was a precursor to PUNK music. Can't you just imagine Ace Frehley playing it?

  • @lancetop uhhhhh no dude I cant imagine Ace frehley playing it, I hope that was a joke bud

  • Remake of 'Ace of Spades', or vice versa?

  • I just discovered him and he is cool. The internet is good for discovering new books, music, movies, etc. It doesnt have to just be a place where people disagree and call each other idiots and faggot!!

  • @slicknicknirvana yeah man! agree 100%. doubts i would have found this record anywhere else. and nirvana rules

  • Comment removed

  • @LordPrick orly?

  • @aurlis2012 Ylro!!!

  • @slicknicknirvana Really!?

  • @slicknicknirvana but that second part is like, 90 percent of it

  • who else were the cramps inspired by? I NEED TO KNOW!!!

  • @jackhartcup my playlist contains the purple Knif show , check it out

  • @ahitler1000 your username sucks big cock. and when i say cock i mean horse cock. idiot

  • S.A.D.

  • I can't believe it took me until 2010 to learn who Link Wray was. Cooler than any of us ever will be.

  • Guitar World actually mentioned and had a short little thing with Link Wray. GW is not my favorite mag for guitar, but I will give them some credit for the inclusion of Link Wray in rock's most influential guitarists. GW is more glam BS than music. IMHO and I prefer to have both std notation and TAB or just std notation and let me work the fingering out myself. That makes the appearance of Link all the more surprising for a mag like GW. I think he is wayyy over due in Cleveland's R&R H of F!

  • @Satchmoeddie Link is not in the R&R Hall of Fame already?? What the hell is wrong with those stuff shirts? He should have been among the first inductees. Pandering to the popular choices again I see.

  • @LateNightCable Link is too good for the Hall of Lame. His accomplishments speak for themselves.

  • just absolutely bad-ass, no other way to put it!!!

  • it makes me thinking on pulp me fiction or death proof !

    thats RAW

  • I think its time to put Link Wray in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, he deserves it so much. Just look at all the guitarists he inspired and all the cool songs he did!!!

  • Very good!!!!!!!!!

  • this is in pulp fiction and was played by the cramps ,sunglasses after dark

    R.I.P. Lux

  • its a shit mix between rumble and ace of spades

  • This might be the greatest song ever recorded. Those chords on the intro are freaking awesome.

Link Wray has to be one of the most underappreciated musicians ever.

  • I'm pretty sure this motherfucker invented the power chord. if that doesn't say enough i don't know what does.

  • Well, the point is that in Pulp Fiction Tarantino uses two Link Wray's tracks: Ace of Spades and Rumble. So we were in the correct way ;)

    bye

  • This song IS in Pulp Fiction, behind the scene where Uma is describing Foxforce Five.

  • Greezzeeee......but nice!

  • they were wearing......sunglasses ...afterdark!

  • @weewees1

    Unfortunately I have to agree.

  • @weewees1

You bet he's cool,. I just discovered him on Pandora.com

  • whats better this or ace of spades

  • What do you think?

  • i like both but i think fatback has more raw energy

  • Still timeless...

  • is this an early take of ace of spades?

  • Now listen to the Cramp's ;Sunglasses after dark'. Music - Mr Link Wray 'Fatback', Lyrics - Mr Dwight Pullen - 'Sunglasses....'. What a combo!!!!

  • That's an ace song!

  • Magnificent! Link Wray is God! Not Eric Clapton!

  • yeah, i'm gonna have to agree with you Montag--Link Wray is grossly underestimated

  • thanks for posting this! I remember hearing this song in "pulp fiction" in the scene where Uma and Travolta are at jack Rabbit slims. always wondered who the artist was..

  • You cannot remenber listening this song in Pulp Fiction, because the track in that secuence that your're talking about is Ace of Spades. Ther're similar tracks but with little differences.

    bye

  • The one in pulp fiction is "rumble", its not in the credits but it plays in that dinner scene while they are sitting in that car. very easy to recognize.

    peace

  • @frenologo I think over ppl have already said this but...the track in pulp fiction is, indeed, Rumble. I've got the soundtrack to prove it. Thing I'm still trying to wonder is why Fatback and Ace of Spades sound alike. I think I like Fatback better tho. What a great fucking name!

  • @dodeka ha yeah but this one was in pulp fiction too i believe

  • Thanks so much for posting this today. I see I'm viewer No. 5 !! I just searched "Fat Back Wray" , & it came up. I use to have the original Swan LP it is on. I love this one.
