@lampposteffect You would likely surprise yourself. These appear to be Pilot whales,m Social and friendly. Humpback are much larger, social and have an aura of ease about them. At 30 tones you don't need to worry much about a 50 lb kayak. Once you get comfortable with them it is an awesome thing to be in their company and be allowed to stay thee.

Porpoises have smaller dorsals. They ARE pilot whales. Long-finned to be exact.
