I grew up with in an Asian household here in LA and growing up, my dad had a Trans-am and a Firebird. As much as I love all of the GTR's the Rotary, muscle cars will always have a place in my heart.
Yea very nice desin; although I hate the new camaros mustangs chargers and challengers; they're too big and bulky and so heavy; with rubber cheap plastic components; the originals betters; slim, sleak, lighter, made of metal and wood rather than rubber and plastic; and the handling on these new "recreations" is terrible; the 480HP Audi R8 out lapped the 638HP ZR1 corvette because the (pro) driver couldn't control the ZR1; mustangs/camaros=worse; what good is a car if it can't take a corner.
The front end is too tall for my taste. I think the design would have been nicer with a slant nose. Maybe Lingenfelter will build a modern retro version of the 77-78 TA. Black with gold accents of course!
My dad has a '67 firebird, its in rough shape but hes planning on restoring it, this car is pretty sweet looks better than the camaro, 655 bhp!!, only thing im not a fan of is the rims. Bring back Pontiac.
I am sure somebody mentioned it here already ... but .... 1971 and 1972 had 455 HO motors ... the 73 and 74 years had the super duty. They should know this.
That's actualy not what I would expect if Pontiac would decide to make the new models of the Firebird and TA. Not a good design. Only Pontiac can design the best of course. So stop making TA out of a Camaro! I don't think any of the TA fans would want to drive a fake designed TA.
Absolutely Hot, beautiful job. Definitely make the kit available; the 455 is awesome, but making it with the current 6.2L would be more realistic. Love it! Oh, needs black or blue door handles, and Loose the Awful Camaro steering wheel.

My grandparents had a Trans Am, my Aunt had a Trans Am, my dad had 2 Trans Ams and now I have a 89 Trans Am GTA...and coming from of a family of Trans Am owners I have to say this is fucking awesome
Wow, that is awesome. I'm just now starting to warm up to American muscle cars, and this is just down right cool. Why didn't they actually pitch this idea before Pontiac was axed. Pontiac got the shit end of the stick. The GTO they came up with via parent GM was a laugh, plenty powerful, but there was no soul of the original GTO in it. It looked modern, and was completely a departure of Pontiac heritage.
@redmr2na If you like American Muscle get a real American muscle car. One from the 60's or 70's The ones that weren't the size of my house and shaped like a Brick.
@14omega28ok American Muscle cars are like the GTO. Camaro's and Mustangs are Pony Cars.
Muscle cars are suppose to be large, like sedan sized, and Pony cars are suppose to be smaller sport shaped. So to speak of smaller muscle cars would be an oxy moron.
@Sharod101 Camaros and Mustangs are both muscle cars and pony cars... That's a pretty common misconception in fact... The size is NOT the determining factor. Pony car definition: Stylish and sporty styling that included "long hoods, short decks, and open mouths" Assembled from "off-the-shelf" mass production components Affordable base price (under $2,500 — in 1965 dollar value) Wide range of options to individualize each car Youth-oriented marketing and advertising.
@xenthar79 Actually, pony car definition: cars built to compete with the Mustang. Being a Mustang is a pony, descended from small Arab and Barb horses. Nothing to do being stylish and sporty. To do with the fact the Mustangs of the 60s were out selling everything. Hence why the Challenger, 'Cuda and Camaro etc appeared. The 'B' body cars were considered to be the real muscle. Charger, Coronet, Roadrunner, GTO etc. I dont think the Mustang was ever referred to as being a muscle car. Officially...
I think its a nice car, but I don't think its original enough. I realize its a trans am but they took too much off the original super duty body, and they basically copied the whole camaro body with a few modifications. I still love the car tho
The car at first looks nice but after awhile it looks too much like a kit car. The tail lights look like they were pasted on. I have no doubt that the car hauls ass, but I would buy a lingy camaro.
Looks good..Just have to sharpen the lines or something, looks like the clay model was painted white..the lines are just not crisp enough and makes something look weird! Nonetheless its an awesome design and if more than 1 was made many would be happy =)
Wow! This is amazing. I had a 73 Firebird with a 400 ci Pontiac engine yeeeeears ago and regret not keeping that old bird. It drank fuel like crazy but was a fun machine to cruise in. It would be so cool if some type of "kit" were produced so that a Camaro owner can do a conversion like this.
I'm sure the shaker is just for looks unless they designed some way for it to actually feed air to the intake... hopefully it is at least attatched to the motor.. its cool to see it shaking.
Whoops! I think you mean the 70-72 HO Trans Am! The White / Blue Stripe or Lucerne Blue w/ a White stripe were indeed 70-72 only cars. The Super Duties were not introduced until 73. Beautiful car though! Nicely Done! Would look really nice next to my 72 Lucerne Blue 455 HO! =)
i love trans ams......I still own my 85.....I need to rebuild it and one of these days I will......but the new one you have here SUCKS,,,,its no different then the camero, the front is to big....trans ams have always had the thin look at the front, not the bubble look.....i dont care how fast it drives.......it DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A T.A.....get back to the drawing board...or it wont sell

I love the car produce it get a real car back on the roads. I'm sixteen and drive the most bad ass 78 trans am every day to school. It's a love for fire birds keep it alive.
I'm a Pontiac Firebird Fan. I wish they had made one last one before they left. Instead they gave the Firehawk name to the G8. Nonetheless, I know what they were "trying" to do, but it looks a bit too "fat" in the face. Can't say I don't like it, but I don't love it. They could have done better.
This is absolutely gorgeous. It's beyond me why they didn't just produce these. Am i the only one that thinks something like this may have been able to save the Pontiac franchise?
Looks great, but should be just a little more different. However, I think its a nice update in comparison to other muscle car updates. I think I would like to see it just a little longer. This body style (based on the newer Camaro) is based on the pre-70 body style Camaro, which the original TA was. But the TA Superduty he is talking about is a different body style, not the Camaro pony style car.
Would prefer a black and gold paint job, you know a bandit style on this. I like, but the trans am, need to be brought back with its own flair not another camaro look a like even though I do like the camaro, Trans-Am's deserve to be different.
I really Want it :O .. is it possible to buy it .. cuz it will be one of a kind in this country everyone has camaro they will be jealous of this one X)
@Topfueltrooper dont get mad cuz i dont like these pos trans ams that people ruin the best trans am's are the GTA's and the old smokey and the bandit style, this would be a nice car had it not been ruined with the gay ass paint job and ugly ass body kit that matches its retarded looking rims so fuck you baldy YOU need to die and anyone else who would do this to a classic car and mabe there would be more left for people who can atcualy injoy these cars
@thecougar27 This isn't a "classic". It's a 2010 Camaro that they customized. The paint scheme is based on the early Trans Ams (1969-1971), ...... But I agree on the wheels
@RTL777 you seem to know a lot about the paint scheme , then you must also know that those honeycomb rimes are as part of this car as the shaker and the stuck on spoiler and ground defects I am desperately looking for some original honeycombs for my 70 firebird gone 73 TransAm sorry my friend the 70 to 73 "pre fed bumpered' Trans-Ams are not complete without those rimes and for us die-hard early T/A guys there is noting worst then the cheesy snow flak wheels and that 77 smokey & Burt:-)
@SKUNKworksUSA - - - I agree with you! The CLASSIC TA's SHOULD be completely stock, and the wheels HAVE to be the HoneyCombs for those early years. The snowflakes I think matched those later 70's models, ... but I guess I am still just a fan of those simple 5 spoke late 90's wheels.
Nah dude the later cars were too big and heavy give these blokes some serious daps for thinking of this and executing it, I have a T/A hotwheels on my desktop even though I am much more partial to vintage BMWs these days LOL.
@MyStangGetsAss those rims are about the only thing that pays tribute to the 1973 455 super duty... But! then again you probably have no idea that from 1970 1/2 to 1973 GM made these beautiful fireberds & Camaros before the Federal government slapped big bumpers on them and sucked all the horsepower away
Please build this GM, I will buy two. One in white with blue stipes and one blue with white stripes. And maybe a black one Smokey and the bandit with gold firebird. Please build it! Please......
FUCK THAT THIS IS WAY BETTER THAN THE OLD 1, THE LOOKS I MEAN ITS MODERN IF YOU DONT LIKE IT GO DRIVE YOUR DAMN OLD TRANS AM THAT MOST PEOPLE GOT SOUND LIKE SHIT!!!
@Cash2112 If it's functional on this one ...It allows cool air in as you step on that pedal it opens up getting that force of air from right off that hood and pushes it through the throttle body..It uses an electronic cellunoide or some shit like that ..but that thing really works.
My pops had a 1976 Tran Am . I wish I had that car now
@truckduck13 My question was more functional rather than cosmetic. Obviously it would be very difficult to route cold air from the shaker opening to the throttle body location of an LSX engine.
Too bad they don't know their Pontiac history; the SD did not come out until 1973 and was never in a Trans Am that was white w/ a blue stripe. The 455 H.O. was the powerplant for Trans Am in 1971-72.
Very cool car though, I would buy it if they would build it.
LOL come the fk on, is that not intensly NOT aerodynamic, its a fkin air pushing gas hog, make it look more like the TA line and it would have sold a solid 2010 Line, camaro based<TA Based......Camaro=funny car TA=man's car, put that thiing on the strip with a shaved nose and u probably still have nothing.God being a 95' TA owner i HATE the shit they did to end pontiac's run
Should have used that hood scoop as an air intake like the original super duty cars. At the moment it just is a showy piece of plastic on top of the engine.
i'm not even that big of a fan of the new Camaro.. but i must admit that i find this T/A rather appealing.. they really hit a homerun here. they managed to stay true to that early-70s feel, while also updating the look beautifully and tastefully. and the specs on that motor! wow! congrats, guys...
I think that Pontiac fans have been tired of getting a corvette engine in a Pontiac for a long time. They should have been a little more specific. But I am glad they are trying to keep it alive!!
@philippejuncker hmmm realyy ass wipe an what foreign car driven asshole are you from let me guess bmw ferari lmao a corvette will eat ur foreign loven ass for lunch
Pontiac had been running Chevy motors since the late 70's so if it has an LS in it fine! Still looks great. Pontiac's never "went" anyway. They were the loosest motors I ever worked on.
guys the 70 was a ram air motor, the 71 and 72;s a 455 ho and the super duty was only available in 73 and 74. Be good if you knew the history before making incorrect statements.
I grew up with in an Asian household here in LA and growing up, my dad had a Trans-am and a Firebird. As much as I love all of the GTR's the Rotary, muscle cars will always have a place in my heart.

But! then again you probably have no idea that from 1970 1/2 to 1973 GM made these beautiful fireberds & Camaros before the Federal government slapped big bumpers on them and sucked all the horsepower away
Gaus212 9 months ago
@Gaus212 who gives a shit what happened 40 years ago the fact is it looks ugly.

What's the purpose of the "Shaker Scoop" on this car? LOL!
Cash2112 11 months ago 6
@Cash2112 esthetics's
MrTransAm1979 11 months ago
@Cash2112 Its a symbolic part of the trans am. I dont think it serves much of a purpose on this one other than than its image. lol
rockettransam911 11 months ago
@Cash2112 If it's functional on this one ...It allows cool air in as you step on that pedal it opens up getting that force of air from right off that hood and pushes it through the throttle body..It uses an electronic cellunoide or some shit like that ..but that thing really works.
My pops had a 1976 Tran Am . I wish I had that car now
Kingcire72x 9 months ago
@Cash2112 To shake lol
B3taBoy217 9 months ago
@Cash2112 The purpose of it is to make it look like a Trans Am. Look up a 1974 TA and you will understand.
truckduck13 7 months ago
@truckduck13 My question was more functional rather than cosmetic. Obviously it would be very difficult to route cold air from the shaker opening to the throttle body location of an LSX engine.
Cash2112 7 months ago
@Cash2112 I see what you are saying and I agree.
truckduck13 7 months ago
Too bad they don't know their Pontiac history; the SD did not come out until 1973 and was never in a Trans Am that was white w/ a blue stripe. The 455 H.O. was the powerplant for Trans Am in 1971-72.
Very cool car though, I would buy it if they would build it.

Should have used that hood scoop as an air intake like the original super duty cars. At the moment it just is a showy piece of plastic on top of the engine.
2005blackpearl 1 year ago
i'm not even that big of a fan of the new Camaro.. but i must admit that i find this T/A rather appealing.. they really hit a homerun here. they managed to stay true to that early-70s feel, while also updating the look beautifully and tastefully. and the specs on that motor! wow! congrats, guys...

I think that Pontiac fans have been tired of getting a corvette engine in a Pontiac for a long time. They should have been a little more specific. But I am glad they are trying to keep it alive!!
187wade 1 year ago
bonnet needs to be much longer the ratios are all out for a trans am
artx4321 1 year ago
Typical of American cars..
Based on another car, made with the same crap materials from the 70s, blah blah skip to power output.
It's not about how big it is, but what you do with it. Something americans will never learn.

Pontiac had been running Chevy motors since the late 70's so if it has an LS in it fine! Still looks great. Pontiac's never "went" anyway. They were the loosest motors I ever worked on.
rayb532 1 year ago
guys the 70 was a ram air motor, the 71 and 72;s a 455 ho and the super duty was only available in 73 and 74. Be good if you knew the history before making incorrect statements.
