@cieronic ... her diaphragm. That's because she sang 2 songs before that one & had a concert only 2 days before. In order to sing that song the way she does, only 5 full breaths are taken throughout the song....do you have any idea how hard that is? I've sung it & others with her before while doing rehearsal for the live act because I can use the whistle tone. Back to the point - it's live, not lipped, if it was, it would been the studio version she sang to.

If you look closely on the front row when it shows the audience, I'm standing right beside the camera man...he works for me. I'm also in five of her live performances, as well as the video for "Shake It Off," and I can assure you all, this video is 100 percent live. Just listen to how she strains at the end and when the last note comes up, she bends a little to push the air up from her stomach into...

This is live. You can tell it's live by simply one, listening to her voice (it's hoarse, which isn't a good thing but proves MC sang it live); two, comparing it to the original version and three, listening to the microphone sounds (you hear the echo, because NYC Stripped is filmed in an enclosed space). Therefore, it is live. Besides, MC's capable of doing songs in a brilliant way. There's no reason for her to hide behind a recorded one especially when she's performing.

One of the things I noticed and that in "live" doent have the effect that it has in studio it can have is the fact that this song has got very fast sung phrases which hard to sing technically good ... hard to breathe and make them understandable. Then her chest voice which for me has suffered a lot since the Butterfly album. Yet Mariah is Mariah and we all love her ...
