Chip is awesome, he is one of the most humble guys out there and he's such a GREAT teacher. I listen his podcasts all the time. This is a man after God's own heart. He gives everything away and just wants to give. What a blessing!

Chip has been very effective in lifting me up and finding direction, biblicly, in the hard times. And though it didnt cost me a cent, the value was unmeasurable. We can only pray that the LOST, commenting below, will take advantage of some of the free information, and hopefully one day be FOUND as a result of Gods Grace.

Chip Ingram is one the best Spirit-filled teachers alive today. This is an excellent book. It caused me to think about my Christian walk, search into what GOD wants FROM me, and that created a desire in me to give it to HIM. This book helped me create good habits that elevate this human existence from worldly, shallow pursuits to GODly pursuits. Thanks, Chip.

I am wary of this teaching because it can be so twisted.

the first lie told to man was that he could be great.

the truth is that while we were still sinners God loved us. So we should recognize our sin, and glorify God for His works, not ours!

thedunn17, The only one who can "twist" GOD is satan. The title of the book is "Good to Great in GOD's Eyes," not Good to Great in the World's Eyes. The Christian life is not for whiners and whimps. GOD expects alot from us. HE expects us to grow in grace and knowledge, and then take that knowledge and put it to work to become the greatest JESUS CHRIST representative that we can possibly be. The HOLY SPIRIT will convict you to act as an expression of your love for GOD not as a chore.

brenneslechatea, you say many true things. I believe the pharisees were trying to be great in God's eyes, though even they stumbled. This is why I am wary. Think about pride, think about humility. Does Christ call us to greatness? or does he call us to Him?

I did not say that I disagree with what Engram says. I just hope that in this book he points out that God had the fools of this world shame the wise. That the first shall be last. If these are truly pointed out in the book, praise Jesus!

I think you're confused, remember when Jesus said that the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven are those who serve. Hold up, I'm looking up the scripture for you....It's explained in Luke 22:24-30. When I first heard this I was also thinking what you were thinking, but then when it was put into explicit scriptural context, I understood what he meant. I'm glad that there are still christians, like you, who question what comes from the pulpit these days.
