He had a fantastic hole shot with an .001 light, so I don't know what happened? Keep coming back because the Eclipse just got faster without losing any weight. In fact, I'm 20 lbs. fatter. I must be happy or something?
@YngwieGuitarGod you dont get the point, there is no driver error in an auto. an awd trapping 110 is like a rwd car trapping 120ish as the awd leads to slower trap speeds but great 60 foot and eigth mile times. autos in a stock vette are slower than the stick shifts.
good run for the eclipse and bad run for the vette. that vette didnt have any ls6 parts. stock 04 ls1 vettes run 12.80s stock! and ls6 vettes low 12s.

In '07 my understanding of what was interchangeable wasn't very good. A good friend of mine just built a 700hp turbocharged LS2 silverado quad-cab SS pickup that's 14 miles per-hour faster than me in the 1/8th. He weighs nearly 6000 lbs. I've learned quite a bit about the LS series motors since then, believe me. I still have a 2.0L, though... ptptptpttptp....
@Jafromobile i have a ls2 it dont have 700hp but its about 440hp in a all wheel drive trailblazer ss. sounds like a sick truck. your car any dfaster? i love awd imports.
@BLACKLACDTS I've had some major drivetrain issues that have prevented me from focusing on adding power. There's a 8-part AWD tech series of videos on my page now as a result of it. I just got it all back together. It's still a 357awhp 12.20 car but that's about to change.
My friend's truck though... yeah it's totally disgusting from his gear selection, torque converter, and 105 trim turbo. I got nothing for him. I'm trying to get him to bring it over so I can shoot it.
@BLACKLACDTS Chad will come back swingin' something else. He was wrenching on his old mustang the day after having back surgery. I'm sure he'll buy his salvage. He wanted a trailblazer, but I won't be surprised if he ends up buying a Corvette.

@BLACKLACDTS The LS2 truck is no more. My friend was bit by a brown recluse. He called the doctor who called in a prescription and demanded he bring himself in for a lancing... long story short, picked up the antibiotics, made it another 1/3 of a mile, passed out and hit a tree going 55+?mph. He's getting surgery on his left orbital tomorrow and has been treated for the bite. He'll be ok. Truck, gone. He went through 3 transmissions in 1500 miles & had just installed a Tremec last weekend.

I have friends in Youngstown. It was a decent little drive to Salem, and it rained like hell on us on the way back out. Shame I had to watch him change his drag radials in the rain. Had a blast! Will do it again. But yeah I got it wrong in the vid.

good race..but i am sorry to tell ya that is not a zo6, that is a coupe..it can be easy to mistake but i have worked with corvettes for a few years...the zo6 has a trunk instead of a hatch style and has a smaller rear window..that is the easiest way to tell.
I won't refute the coupe designation, but isn't the LS6 and carbon fiber treatment under the hood only available on the z06? has a 3.5" MAF sensor, etc (same one I'm using on my Eclipse)... I wish I had thought to shoot video of that. Or would it still have been possible to option that motor into a coupe?

well it could have been all driver error as well..but i know in our shop it was very common to take coupes and fit them with a LS6 and the rear brake duct scoops as well...which were also only on the the ZO6..to get the look and function...either way..ya still beat a corvette..thats still bragging rights haha
You know what? The nay-sayers here are correct. Regardless of the LS6 upgrades, this car is a C5 Coupe, not a C5 Z06 hardtop. This car is just as much a Z06 as my Eclipse (since I also have the LS6 parts in my engine bay). But even if it had 405 hp like the LS6, I'm making 520hp at the crank with an engine that's 3.7L smaller in displacement. :D

I agree. I pulled a .810 reaction vs. his near-perfect tree, and that's the only thing that made it a good race. He should have killed me with the lead I gave him.
