They have a decent share of programs designed to help them (just like battered women do) but we can't put guns to their head and FORCE them to go to treatment. If we simply shovel MORE money to an addict, that money will likely go straight to the drug dealer and liquor store. Which is why I argue that we need to refine the system to help those who have the MOST likelyhood of turning their life around. It just makes sense!

If you watch these videos you will make a direct correlation that MOST of these homeless are heavily addicted to drugs or alcohol, or BOTH (no I don't want drug addicts and alcoholics in my home period). The second majority suffer from heavy bouts of mental illness (I'm not equiped or professionally trained to accomodate the mentally ill period). The remaining homeless are only temporarily homeless and get plenty of tax money for social programs.

I gave them the food I prepared & she was very happy & told me that her son was crying because he was hungry & that she was praying to God because she couldn't do nothing to help him. We used to wait in a long line to load and unload, now your lucky to see another truck at a supper Wall Mart or other warehouses, fewer dock workers. The truck stops are half empty everywhere. Only a third of the trunking companies survived. I feel comfortable in saying 30% unemployed and getting worse.
I understand that some people are homeless because they were really unlucky but there are a lot of homeless people who are just homeless because they are drug addicts and if you give them money it will only encourage them to buy more drugs and tricking you guys into thinking they are actually unfortunate people.

This made me cry.... im from Singapore, and here, we do not have homeless people living on the streets. Our government makes sure there is aid for these people, at least, just to get them a place to stay and food. I think they do it partly because it's unsightly and it speaks poorly of Singapore (who tries very hard to look good to the world all the time) We Singaporeans don't see it in our country, so it's really heartbreaking to know how others r suffering away from home.i hope they get help

Most of these people only need a room to sleep, specialy the women or men with children. So I think it would be a good ideea to create a site with a map where you can go and see who needs help in your city. Maybe you don't have an extra room but at least you could offer him some food or clothes. Everything you need is a man with a camera, a city, youtube and a site with a map. Seeing movies like this one will make people want to help. It can be done, leave a reply if you want to start this.

This made me cry.... im from Singapore, and here, we do not have homeless people living on the streets. Our government makes sure there is aid for these people, at least, just to get them a place to stay and food. Most of these people only need a room to sleep, specialy the women or men with children. So I think it would be a good ideea to create a site with a map where you can go and see who needs help in your city. Maybe you don't have an extra room but at least you could offer him some food or clothes. Everything you need is a man with a camera, a city, youtube and a site with a map.
