To answer laughAlot, they use all different kinds of make up, eye smudge, wax, it just depends on the texture or feel they want out of the style.

Im a cosmetologist, and it really varies. sometimes "face paint" gives a more thicker look, where as eyeshadow is less vibrant and thick =]
