Hi all, thank u to those who replied to my post, I do agree that the dancer in this video is not dressed for the stage; but even then, as an avid dancer and balletomane myself, I have always believed in wearing body-hugging dancewear even in rehearsals so that one looks neat and clean, and also the teachers and coaches can see if we are really working all our muscles correctly and to the fullest. My teachers have all been against loose or baggy clothing which obtructs clear view of how we work.
@DreamyChristine85 I found your comment quite astounding. I think we are privileged that BRB dancers allow themselves to be filmed in working rehearsals. By the way, Nao was absolutely sensational in performance in Sylvia, as she is in everything that she does.
@DreamyChristime85 Rob is right this video really shows how she rehearses.... Watch a video of a performance for the real clean cut look! This video is fantastic, Sakuma couldn't look heavy or clumsy is she tried.
I think she should have done the rehearsal without the jazz pants... it obstructs the view of her leg lines and makes her look heavy and clumsy. Also I thought that her hair was messy and made her look rather untidy and unprofessional.
@DreamyChristine85 Through our videos, we aim to give a true insight into the hard work that goes into a working rehearsal. Nothing is staged and dancers aren't asked to dress up for the camera.
@BRBRob@DreamyChristine85 Well, if it's good enough for David Bintley then it's good enough for me. I saw this on stage in London a couple of months after this rehearsal and it was excellent.
@DreamyChristine85 This is an ordinary rehearsal, filmed to show the working process of a professional company. I like it, it's a real 'peek behind the curtain'. I find it interesting to see what dancers really wear and look like behind the costume and make-up of a performance.
is she not very turned out? interesting version of the pizzicato solo
