  • amazing!

  • We're playing this song in 8th grade band there fast

  • On the more positive side, I love these guys' tone. Its so clear. They seem to really be having fun, which is the point of music

  • This is used to point out the difference between trombones and other instruments. They are SUPPOSED to not tongue when they slur. That is the meaning of a slur. And its SUPPOSED to be swung. In fact, swing is half of jazz music. I am a girl in high school who plays trumpet/trombone, and I know my jazz music.

  • @coolcatz5656 Well actually.. Glissing and slurring are two completely different things. Trombones are always supposed to tongue (except when marked with a gliss) even when it's slurred but just extremely lightly.

  • does anyone have a arrangement for this song? i love the way they jazzed the song and the harmonizing they do through the song. The arrangements i've found are more concert like

  • Forget rick rolling... I just got LASSUS TROMBONED!

  • I've been trying to find this song for yeeeaarrs

  • That deserves a second listen.

  • It sounds really good. I love it. But. I don't like how the song is swung.

  • Barney Liddell is in the middle, his family still has his trombone!

  • Barney rules!!

  • i've looked all over youtube for this piece and this one is still my favorite arrangement

  • Dude my band played this last year! Im in the percussion section, was dancing back there. This piece is so groovy!

  • cool!!!

  • Is there any chance these guys will share their arrangement? Or maybe someone else?

  • @trash266001 Doubt you'll find it written anywhere. I guess you'll have to transcribe the notes yourself (not an impossible task) or learn the parts by ear. Alternatively you could write your own arrangement, but it's hard to imagine improving on this one.

  • @amazing763 i have the trombone quartet version right now in my hands lolz

  • These guys are all great!

  • shou man

  • press 7 over and over :D

  • tvcollector71, thank you. From the bottom of my heart. You have opened my eyes to what music really is all about. Having fun while making it! :D so once again, thanks!

  • Press 8

    Sounds like a plane :D

  • I played this for my school ensemble contest, and I thought we did well. That was until I heard this. I mean not to say we were bad it 's just that compared to this our style seemed so off. ~__~

    *sigh*

Oh well this was great. :D

  • One of the few clean slurs I've heard. Quite the masters.

I myself play trombone. Love this version... the juuuuuust don't make players like they used to. I think its funny they totally the conductor as well. Trombones take charge, not your crap ;]

  • Beautiful harmony, but I do NOT like how they don't tongue during the melody. Just sounds sloppy.

  • Written by Henry Filmore actually

  • @Mwstmrlnd Little known fact: John Phillip Sousa was surprised when he found out that Henry Filmore was white. Isn't that funny?

  • The trombones in our group are really bad. They don't even practice at home or do good on tests all they do is just talk during class for an easy A.

  • Alright, Molassas trombone! Good god I played this music so many times in the bands in Germany!! The Germans loved it.

  • does anyone know where i can find this arrangement?

  • @youngesteban It was likely made by Welk's in house arranger.

  • Woah, It sounds more swing in this version, it's different in a good way~!

  • i really like this song because it sound's alot like Tom and Jerry if you spped it up a bit. i have to play this song in my band class and of course, i play trombone so im in for a treat!

  • Awesome job

and high caliber flame, its called "Lassus TROMBONE" for a reason

  • Love the solo. Looks like he's poking out his tongue @ the camera. That's why I love the songs with heaps of slide movement.

  • Comment removed

  • BRAVO!

If I could have played my trombone half this good I would have been happy.

I have played that song as a solo but it sounds great in a trio too!

I could hear this version 100 times and still not get sick of it.

  • They sound pretty darn good but swinging this tune! Wow, I have played it about 100 X's!

  • but how can you do the glissandos on the bassoon? Doesn't that sort of just defeat the purpose of it?

  • I like the jazzy swing of it.

  • is the guy in the middle playing a Williams?

  • No dude , that's a trombone!

  • great! what uber style these cats have. so smooth and tasy

  • I did this for a band concert two days ago!

    :'D

  • Almost the best version (after watch?v=xWyTOgtBPBs) I've ever heard

  • criminal trombone

  • These guys are raw. I don't care who you are or what you think. These men win the internets.

  • @Kaymorve

These men all died before this video ever went up. two of them before youtube or google ever existed.

I guess this video wins the internets, but these men never even knew of the internets.

    :(

  • whoa.... i don't think i've heard this rendition. Only the band version. I like this a lot. The harmony really gives it a cool feel. Thanks for posting!

  • Agreed,

  • echt geil

  • respect.
