Helen's voice is too light and airy to make this song believable. Laura own its. She sings it as if she lived it and the performance proves it.

I don´t want to be rude but if you have already heard this song with Barbra Streisand or Laura Nyro you are going to make obvious comparisons

@carpentermanuel I like Helen's version better than that of Laura Nyro, but no one can sing anything better than Streisand.

And to think Helen Schneider was gonna replace Grace Slick in Jefferson Starship at one stage.
Her rock [AC/DC covers etc] w/ The Kick are pretty good.
She has had considerable success over the years in Germany. In concert & in stage shows.
Sunset Bl'vd. etc.
