  • There is a mistake, supply can't be DC, so +/- symbols are wrong.

    They aren't wrong still they aren't needed either. The reason is that he used only lineal components, but using non-lineal components and including also a DC component it the circuit makes them needed.

    Placing them is a standard practice needed or not.

  • Ohhhh... this mysterious thing they call "gain" is actually just output voltage/input voltage :) Apparently you're a better teacher than my prof.
