  • just seen a documentary on swedish television about jamaican reggae, what was fun about this tune is that when they record it in the studio they did it on the first take, no need for a second one, the studioworkers said it was a "magic moment in music history" , I think I have to say the same, it´s a magig tune.

  • as revivalqueen said there is no room for debate. period. africa is the cradle of the human race and the first "homo sapiens" ever to walk the earth were black people. i dont understand why is it so hard for people to accept it. im white but when something is true something is true. personaly i think that in the future the best thing that would hapen is that all the diferent colors would not even be noticed. peace

  • Absolutely Love this and very much looking forward to returning to that land. BLESS

  • The art work helps the music speak tons. Loving it, thanks for sharing it.

  • This song has always spoken to me. Thank you for posting

  • i will use my imaginination on how to say thank you in Rastafari for posting the video ~

  • when plotting the foundation of reggae music, this song must be used as THE STANDARD for spiritual depth....there is NO song that can compare to this lyrical tour de force.......

  • I know what you mean. I went to hear Prince Fari in London - he didn't show up - but his very large band did this was the first track they played - my god did they blast it. The band leader - a guy about four and half feet high kept looking towards the wings tp see when his majesty of Frai would show up - but they gave us the best version straight from the source. -and they all played their hearts out that night in Finsbury Park Rainbow

  • @babamari

rasta is hardly deep. carribbean culture + spanish missionaries + uneducated natives = an unrecognizable smorgasbord of hardly recognizable religious themes.

plus their claim that the (dead) leader of Ethiopia is jesus is obviously preposterous

  • @frother Are you agnostic? Who are you to judge? What do you describe as depth? And as educated? Is there a right way? What do you want here? Was Jesus resurrected? Is any belief more credible than others? And if so, according to what standards? Yours? Or some specific Book? Would you like to write one? Give it a few hundred years and you'll be believed as well. Enjoy this music or go chat with your kind. Abyssinians are pure gold from the heart, if you have got one.

  • @SulivanCourt

This is an open forum for commenting; I commented. Depth is the opposite of trite religious parroting. As antiintellectual stoners there's no definition of educated that applies to them. Jesus wasn't resurrected. A belief isn't credible if it's obviously made up.

"most Rastafari rejected the event and refused to accept that the bones were the remains of Haile Selassie. There remains some debate within the Rastafari movement as to whether Haile Selassie actually died in 1975"

  • Hamilton is king

  • Africa is the birthplace of the human race. Period. The Western world has recognised at long last, me myself I am here on account of a journey I did not choose to make, Ma & Pa are decendents of the Maroons in Jamaica root familly of the 1st slaves that were 'DUMPED' in the islands by your forefathers...........I'm born here and that is what I read in my 'HIstory' (taken with a massive piece of salt) class

Don't shoot the messenger, ....peace 'n' love my bro...........;-)

  • Agreed.... Thanks for the "peace 'n' love "

  • @revivalqueen i dont believe its the cradle of the human race, although africa

is a land with spirit like none other.

  • @revivalqueen Not "His story" but "MY STORY"

  • @revivalqueen that's just a theory. that's if you believe in people starting out in africa and migrating out of it over a span of time. there is also a theory of pockets of people just starting all over the world-not migrating anywhere.

  • @revivalqueen Dumped and thus became the first Raggamuffin! After that time many raggamuffins ended up in U.S. during the civil war as they were bought and sold soon to be run away slaves to join the first black regiments of the union.

  • @revivalqueen

That is sheer and utter rubbish.

Jesus is the Lion of Judah and the King of Kings. Haile Selassie was a murderer.

  • @ZLUGGO you obviouly dont know your history, cuz like they said in the song look into the books, its common sense and facts, sellasie I is the rightfull ruler, he is jesus christ....... idiot fool

  • @inferi321

If you knew Jesus you wouldn' t insult me.

    Haile Selassie was a moron.

  • @revivalqueen life was born in Iraq, FOOL!

  • @IRISHDRUID6837 no, civilization and the book of law was. A.K.A. "Babylon"

  • @revivalqueen Um im sorry man but Civilization and humanity started in iraq..... in asia minor, check your facts before ranting on about nonsense

  • @andrewmilstein - The oldest human fossils were found in Africa. Ethiopia to be exact. So what are you talking about when you refer to "civilization and humanity"?

  • @andrewmilstein Ranting on about nonsense??? Well you would call it that wouldn't you. Truth hurts does it?

  • @andrewmilstein you're gettin mixed up mate, sedentry civilization started in the levant area of the middle east but hunter gatherer culture was all over africa asia and europe by this time. you're talkin bout when humans settled and started farming.

  • finally a reggae video that doesnt have to show a nug leaf or a nug plant. thats not what reggae is about

  • But It Will Always Be A Part Of Rastafari, And As Long Rastafarians Are Making Reggae There Will Be Nug Plants Showing Up In most Of The Reggae Video's

    -Jah Guide-

  • bob marley said that the more you accept rasta, the more you accept the herb... there´s no reason to avoid watchin a plant...

    and i´m not rasta...

    saludos desde mexico...

  • JAH spirit rest on a holy man, Rastafar, no matter color, if him love JAH JAH.

JAH look through him eyes. See you. See me.

  • AVATAR OF GOD. AVATAR - 1. Hindu Mythology. the descent of a deity to the earth in an incarnate form or some manifest shape; the incarnation of a god.

    2. an embodiment or personification, as of a principle, attitude, or view of life.

Jah is an avatar of god representing the Rastafarian movement.

  • no mon, Jah is God

Jah is the short form of Jahwe (or Jehova), the hebrew word for God

  • Ya, avatar meaning a god in human form.

  • Greetings one and all , just popping in to remind you all that GOD (English language for this point) is a 'Title' just like 'Man' Woman' 'Girl' 'Boy' etc, should you choose the 'Biblical' version read Exodus Ch 3 v 14 for clarification......

    Peace and love.................;-)
