The unicorn scene is in the film, however this just apears to be shots from Legend cut into Blade Runner. The unicorn scene from Blade Runner has only one Unicorn and no woman.
Read about these missing scenes back in 89´. Recently found them on the net. Saw this film back in 82´in a very cold, cold day! Still remember the music! Thanks for publishing.
Man- too long. And just....the fairy fantasy land is just too much of a contrast to the rest of the movie...ugh.
Dammit, i love the technical upgrades, by why do director's have to mess with the works that have a substantial fandom in tow? (i'm looking at you, lucas).
Ambiguity is good! is he a replicant? is he human? these questions are the reason we still talk about this movie to this day.
@TheSquishee89 He is a replicant and everyone should know it. The fact the guy left a unicorn outside the apartment at the end of the story suggests that he has access to his dreams and memories the same way Deckard did for the girl (forgot her name).
While Deckard could be a replicant, the movie does not tell me that. With the inclusion of the unicorn dream, Gaff's foil unicorn makes sense. Gaff wants Deckard gone & lets him take Rachel. Gaff probably accessed Rachel's file, and knows she has no expiration date. Bryant believes that Rachel will die soon. Gaff & Deckard know about Rachel's implanted dream. Deckard's "dream" is his thinking about Rachel. Gaff's last words & his unicorn tell Deckard of his intentions. Voila!
I know I know, there are unicorns in the Bladerunner. But this user added MORE unicorn footage, from the film Legend, added. That's what I meant but I typed too fast.
Remember when you were six? You snuck into the empty woods behind your house... And you saw that unicorn, You were gonna play doctor. He showed you his, but when it got to be your turn, you chickened and ran. Ever tell anyone that?
I never recanted what took place that lost day in the back woods of a time lost and a place I cannot recall. Yet, at night I wake to the feeling that a horn of magic had entered me.
Probably, Decker is the Unicorn, get it? A mythical creature with powers for good,
Just as replicants are mythical creatures in our time, and inside the puzzel, there is a good replicant, get it?

Legend was an earlier movie of R.Scott and i think the unicorn sequence in Bladerunner is taken from the Legend's footage leftovers.

dreams go tawdry in dirt encrusted spun lost hair and burnt matches
shafts of light exposed in the whirling dust reluctant to settle
throats are sore from breathing ash and grit
flames grow somber quickly after being lit

Why did Roy put a nail in his hand near the end?
pirocan1 3 years ago
There are two reasons;
1.) To stop his hand clenching up.
2.) The christ-like symbolism that is prominent with Roy's character throughout the film.
:-)

i'm guessing the director of blade runner has very personal ties to (or probably also directed?) Legend...
MinuteOrMinute 3 years ago
Hah, Ridely Scott really, actually, did direct Legend. This user just added in Legend footage to fool us. XD
Also in Blade Runner, there is a pillar in a scene that is exactly the mold they used in Legend in Darkness's tree.
