For someone so young, I'm amazed by her maturity. Although her father didn't deserve her love, a part of her heart still loved him. i hate to say this, but, i dont think she was meant to be back with her father. That man was not a good person. If he were to get back with charice, he may have tryed to control things and caused problems while trying. charice is best being with her mother and those currently around her, like her Godfather, David foster. David has been more a father then "that other man" ever was.
Thanks God that there are people in her life (DF & Uncles), that will fill the void left by the death of her Dad. In this life, we do not have a choice of our parents, father and mother. Without Ricky there's no Charice. Because Ricky left them, Charice has this burning desire in her belly to succeed and thus we know her today as an "international singing sensation". Considering everything, you can say that Ricky did his job as father even though he was not there. Ricky- RIP.
@hermiemel i understand your view, but i think you are being too generous. A father's job is to, teach, guide, listen, support and love their child. Providing "sperm" for them to exsist doesnt do the job of a father. However, as i said, i understand. The action of her mother leaving "him", caused other "actions" to occur. But those actions occurred because he was removed from their lives. But, still, we hope he rest-in-peace. And i think she will be more at peace, too, knowing he is.

Sometimes I think that this is Ricky's legacy - he left a family and out of that chaos came Charice. Because he left, Charice became a one person "daughter/mom/dad" . She grew-up quickly to make something out of a "messed-up" beginning. As for Ricky, he choose to acknowledge her successes from afar. I can't blame her for this, but Charice always acknowledged her Dad with ambivalent feelings. Ricky - RIP. Now I pray that Charice will find "meaning" to this sad episode of her life. Peace.

I also want to dedicate this song to my Dad, who just passed away early this morning....after suffering from his chronic illness and other complications for such a long time. Dad...we love and miss you very much! At least now....you do not have to suffer anymore...because you are safe in God's precious hands. I will always do my best to make you proud....

i hate to say this, but, i dont think she was meant to be back with her father. That man was not a good person. If he were to get back with charice, he may have tryed to control things and caused problems while trying. charice is best being with her mother and those currently around her, like her Godfather, David foster. David has been more a father then "that other man" ever was.

Thanks God that there are people in her life (DF & Uncles), that will fill the void left by the death of her Dad. In this life, we do not have a choice of our parents, father and mother. Without Ricky there's no Charice. Because Ricky left them, Charice has this burning desire in her belly to succeed and thus we know her today as an "international singing sensation". Considering everything, you can say that Ricky did his job as father even though he was not there. Ricky- RIP.

@hermiemel i understand your view, but i think you are being too generous. A father's job is to, teach, guide, listen, support and love their child. Providing "sperm" for them to exsist doesnt do the job of a father. However, as i said, i understand. The action of her mother leaving "him", caused other "actions" to occur. But those actions occurred because he was removed from their lives. But, still, we hope he rest-in-peace. And i think she will be more at peace, too, knowing he is.

Sometimes I think that this is Ricky's legacy - he left a family and out of that chaos came Charice. Because he left, Charice became a one person "daughter/mom/dad" . She grew-up quickly to make something out of a "messed-up" beginning. As for Ricky, he choose to acknowledge her successes from afar. I can't blame her for this, but Charice always acknowledged her Dad with ambivalent feelings. Ricky - RIP. Now I pray that Charice will find "meaning" to this sad episode of her life. Peace.

I watched this video so many times... and for some reason Charice touched us all Chasters for a very beautiful rendition of the song. And just for an observation....listen to the last portion of the video while David is talking, somebody shouted " mga gago kayo'. Oh my, how rude this person shouted words like that. I can't comprehend whats the reason for it.

Charice's father is close by. He does know that he wasn't there in her life, and he never was a deadbeat dad because he never asked for anything, like a deadbeat dad would. He knew he was the blame for what happened and he watched her rise to this level and was very proud of her, even if he never had the chance to tell her himself. I bet he watched her with his friends and said that is my daughter eat your heart out. LOL
