@zavdogg256 you're an New Zealand resident so you shouldn't have to wait at all for your citizenship, you can effectively ask for it and you'll get it regardless of hoe long you've lived here
you dont require citizenship, however ADF recruits must attempt to gain citizenship when they are eligable to recieve it, so yes, they do fast-track it sometimes. However you can join and initiate training/service, provided you are either in the process of recieving citizenship, or sign a form stating you will apply once you are eligable.
@techlogi7 He didn't lose it, It hanging by a tether. They Can't put their packs on their backs because thats where the parachute is, so they keep their packs on their legs. They can't land with a pack around their legs so they drop it and leave it hanging by a tether just before they land.

@locog42 minimi is like 2x as heavy and about the same size not a huge difference and everyone thinks the steyr is unusual to hold because IT IS! you will get use to it no problem.

@TheRevolution808 the m16 is more powerful for sure but is much more unreliable and the m16 is longer, also if the AUGs 5.56 was to miss the targets bones and muscle the bullet could go straight threw and it wouldnt kill them but the chances of the bullet missing muscle and bone in someones body is incredibly unlikely as you could imagine, overall the AUG is as good or better then the m16 with less problems.

The Royal Australian Infantry are good dont get me wrong..but im with the British Royal Marine Commando's..the toughest of any non special forces in the world with the longest training and the hardest tests..CONFIRMED. I would however like to see the ADF play a more significant role in Helmand,Afghanistan..the most dangerous part of Afghanistan and one that, the Americans couldnt handle..so they sent us Brits in and we are getting the job done.Australia needs to play a bigger role there.
