One awesome pickup, one knob, 24 frets, floyd rose, and maybe two nine volts so you don't need any effects, and a full stack. The world is at your mercy. I have a RR3 but with only 22 frets. This is my next buy, I'm torn though, I play hair metal and I want a fluorescent colored guitar, ie Ibanez rg550 20th but I just love the Randy V. :/

@zzzhuh Usually guitar companies group features that will most likely suit the guitar player. Like shredding guitars having 25.5 scales, active pickups, extreme shapes and ebony fretboards. I personally prefer one bridge pickup because I hate the sound from using a neck pickup in any way, and maybe people that would agree with me would tend to play shred-like metal. Jackson (Fender) though is the only company cheap enough to use this as an excuse to make a line of guitars with one bridge pickup.

@jbohler33 One pick up from a tone perspective is limited as well as not having a coil feature, no tone nob or a pick up variety. I love the neck pick up and I love having it in the middle where both are active cause it gives a great feel for clean, when you have it on a bridge pick up the clean is to hot if you know what i mean. I guess im gonna have to get a custom Rhoads with 24 frets, 2 pick ups, and a Floyd rose.

i own this guitar and i have to say its not that great hey. the action is horrible as its set up by fender who seem to think having the strings 2 miles off the fret board is ideal for metal players. Normally im not fussed as i know how to set up my own guitars but the problem for jacksons is the actions height at the nut. and coz its a floyd rose i had to pay 400 dollars to get it set up proplerly by someone else. not happy jackson. Though its ok now.

@liamware7 you would most times have to adjust action, pickup heigt, or even intonation when you buy a new guitar. that doesn't make the guitar bad, and why would you spend 400 bucks to set it up? the rr24m was my first floyd equipped guitar, and although it took me some time I set it up, changed strings, adjusted action, and adjusted the bridge to a different tuning. if you know how to set up your guitars I don't get why you couldn't do it with the rr24.

BTW Scarchina1, your RR24 has the made in japan sticker on the beginning of the neck, but I have a real different sticker. It's a silver sticker saying Jackson made in japan, from which year is your's produced?

To check that just check the serial (at the 24st fret) if it begins with 09..

If it begins with 08 your's is from 2008, I'm just asking myself why they changed the sticker xD

Well, with both guitars you'd get screamed after 'fanboy', but I like the RR24 more. The Alexi-600 is similar to the mmv-08 model, almost same, and I played that one and the RR24 pwnd it.

Fact is, the mmv-08 was an 2008 model only, and was only made for sale in Finland. Unless you live in finland I'm not so sure if you could get your hands on one..

well first i wanted to buy the RR3 but then 1 year later i changed my mind and bought the RR24.The difernce is that the RR3 has a bolt on neck,22 frets,2 pasive Seymore duncan humbuckers and a low profile tremolo.The RR24 has a Neck-Thru-Body neck headstock,24 frets,1 active EMG 81 humbucker that give a razor sharp metal tone and a Oficial Floyd Rose Tremolo,its a hand made guitar form Japan. The RR3 is the Best choice if you dont want to spend to much money and still have a killer tone.

the profile is almost the same but the neck quality is far better and smoth,i also got a jackson JS30 Dinky Hardtail its the same as the JS30RR but a different shape. You will not be disapointed with this guitar go for it all the way.Its a must have.
