Take me back to the bayous Captain! This is the title track to what I consider to be Beefheart's finest album... and he produced some really fine albums too, ever since his very first, 'Safe as Milk', which is a close personal second fave...
The fucking business - lost my job to Beefheart - to this and I'm Gonna Booglarize You - slapped some jug-eared cunt - it's what the Captain would've wanted
One comforting thing about the loss of Don is that I learned from comments of Artie Tripp that Don always had a deep respect for his High School pal Frank Zappa. Artie not so much.
Thanks for posting this; I still have a vynil copy of this album, but this track and also 'Big Eyed Beans' have suffered badly from pissed pratts at parties picking up the pickup arm to replay the good bits, which consequently became the bad bits!

I don't need Captain Morgan, Kangaroo, Crunch or Planet as long as I've got Beefheart.

I always wondered what came first.
Clear Spot the Beefheart song or
Clear Spot the early 70's blotter acid?
One comforting thing about the loss of Don is that I learned from comments of Artie Tripp that Don always had a deep respect for his High School pal Frank Zappa. Artie not so much.

A truly original talent - I love this track and its namesake album. Funky, funny, surreal and a touch sad at times. Worth a listen...
