He never compared hip hop to jesus...he's saying that when jesus and everyone else in the bible were doing what they were doing, they didnt know that they were going to be a very large part of history. That's why he said "we never know when we will be in history." Also what he meant by the job thing was that a job is not necessarily what you enjoy doing, it's what gets you by.
