The negroid rithm of this dance goes back to the Conquistadores era. They brought african slaves to now Bolivia to work in the silver mines. Those slaves mostly came from Mozambique, Senegal and El Congo. Along, they brought their dances and Bolivians keep this dance alive as seen in the clip.
