I myself will go back these days. I just want to acheive my goal and get out of the states take my family and go work to focus on what the people need not what the government needs ("$") lets all pray so God can help thru.
First off, the testing ICBMS have several measures to ensure that they do not interfere with the local population and are absolutely no threat to the people there whatsoever. Most of the testing has moved to California, anyway.
Also, this doesn't tell one complete story. The US millitary tries to do a lot for the people. They even built a desalinization plant for the people of Ebye, but they didn't keep people there to maintain it. It is a sad story, and I want to help. It's just not simple.
awww im not from marshall islands but i visited Ebeye in 2006...my heart goes out to dese kids...so many of dem....it was really hot down there. some of dese kids on dis video i remember their faces...but...don't kno their names. newyz wish u luck n one luv
Ebeye is a tough place but there are some amazing people there with big hearts.
Wish more people would come and see it first hand, and hear the stories about how the US Army moved them off of their pristine islands and and forever changed their way of life.
I am from Ebeye and I sure do miss my home, family, and friends... Thanks phlasphil for putting this on youtube... Nice to know that it's still full of life and happiness... :)
ebeye I really consider as my home sweet home. I put so many memory in this home sweet land. grew up here with my parents rev. and josephine Edwards all my five children born here and this is where my parent rest in piece my two sisters and the beloved father of my children. I knew most families on Ebeye , that's why I call his place home sweet home.
i once visited Ebeye once but there was power there..
come on now..what r the government doing?
I am from Kiribati n i just want to say i love Ebeye but therez so much garbage everywhere.but still i love it cos that time i visited there all of them pplz r so kind to me..
for starters get some solar panles for electricity, your cause would probabely get more attention if you made your country an affordable and exotic tourist destination for Americans, and then exposing your communities problems. In todays economy if Americans knew that the marshall islands existed as a country they would be more sympathtic. hence some areas of america are suffering too, maybe not the here Ohio river valley (Huntington WV) but michigan (detroit area) yeah.
They have no power on the island right now ,gas is $7.60 a gal. over 1200 jobs lost on kwaj. the near by U.S base. Big oil co. refuses to deliver them gas because of past bills unpaid. Rice is $ 20 a bag instead of 7.50$ it was ten month ago,the people of the islands live on rice. The things are getting much harder out there on Ebeye and the other Marshell'sI wish them health & luck....
@phlashphil , I'm so sorry to hear about the situation on Ebye.I'm an American who worked on Kwaj in the early 90's. I had many friends on Ebye. The U.S. government really screwed over the gentle Marshallese people and should do something to make amends.
@phlashphil I hope that this kids all have great lives, This island full of very lively and happy people deserbs the best god can give, i hope everthing is alright now, Cuba my home land is in truble too, no food and no freedom. I fully support the people of Ebeye. God bless them all.
in Guam they got lots of Marshallese immigrants.

i love this video, and I myself believe that someday I will go back to the Marshall Islands and change things.
I Danny Almen Kaneala was born in the marshall Isalnd and I personelly missed my days and memory that I had back home.
I'm currently in the Marine Corps and I promise that someday down the road I will make changes...
Only God will call me on my duty this coming days, and who ever took this video I thank you once again...
