Since the general opinion is that Bane is going to break Batman, it would make sense if Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character was a bluff. He's apparently called John Blake, and is a gotham city police officer. Sounds a bit like azrael. Michael Lane was a former gotham police officer who became the vigilante Azrael, who took up Batman's job after Bane paralysed him. It would make sense in the movie's context, but to reveal his real name would basically give away that Bane is going to destroy Batman.

They're doing new things with Batman, lot of theories floating rnd that Nolan will kill off Bruce Wayne so its possible his character will bow out, but "Batman" will still carry on, like other people to carry on the mantle. Kinda like a Dick Grayson/Nightwing thing in the comics...

In the current story. There will definitely be more because now that the Harry Potter series is over Warner Brothers needs something big to keep its investors happy, Superman and other DC hero movies don't carry the torch as well (in my opinion). They have already submitted a request to WB for another reboot, although this is a long way off and any new ones won't be cannon with this series at all.

Also, Christian Nolan wants his Batman trilogy movies to be realistic, so there are no fictitious/cartoony characters such as the Riddler. Instead, a similar villain named the Holiday Killer is being played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It's a villain that stems from the Batman comics and in this movie, he is the new head of the Falcone crime family, as well as a killer during Holidays (yea...lol).

He waited till the utmost perfect time, when Batman was at his weakest, to strike and completely defeat him. I have to say, Bane is his greatest foe.

@Sorandsoma Depends on how you look at it. The Joker stands as his greatest foe when it comes to pure chaos and insanity. Ras stands as his greatest foe when it comes to purging Gotham. Bane, however, if you read the comics, did something these two other characters couldn't. He broke Batman, not just physically, but spiritually and mentally. His mental abilities even surpass Batman's, he knows several languages, including two dead ones, and is an expert in every scientific field.

As well as looking action packed it looks really dramatic with emotion placing Bruce Wayne in a tough vulnerable position which is awesome because having him as the underdog who has to really fight his way back to the top makes for more compelling drama. Fuckin' cool!!! Batman Begins and Dark Knight were awesome but I think this one's gonna take it to a whole new level which is what we all want anyway. Bane looks menacing.
