It's a masterpiece followed, studied and somehow, venerated by young cineasts or just the genre fans. I'm so glad it never goes on explanations like why the birds start behave like this and why they stop. Never told! That would kill the mistery and the uncomfortable feelings (the aim of thrill). That's one of my favorite movies as Lost is one of my favorite TV series.

Seriously, would the sixth season have been better explaining the whole history of the island while flushing the characters down the toilet? It would have been a vicious circle of answers that lead to more questions. I'm fairly satisfied by the delivered solutions and a great character-centered ending.

@boooyah9 (SPOILER!) MIB could not leave because he was supernatural (black smoke) and needed the Light to survive in that form. However, when the Light was turned off by Desmond, he was in Locke's form, became mortal and could leave the island.
And nothing would've happen if he left the island, he was just a mere mortal in Locke's form. The beauty of the whole thing is: neither Jacob (nor MIB for that matter - he thought he had to kill Jacob and the candidates to leave the island!) knew this!

- Because it's convenient (shadow, water, fish...)
- The Light must be turn off if MIB wants to be able to leave the island. And without Light, everybody dies (because the Light is the source of Life on Earth)
- The Dharma Initiative, as we saw it on season 5.
- MIB was in communion with the island, and that was making him "special" (just like Locke) His connection with the island probably made him to have a dream explaining how to use water and Light to create a space/time reaction.
- They did in season 5. Even if everything is already happened, the losties actually get back in the 70's (but they can't change anything)

Also are all life's mysteries answered no so why should we know all the answers to life in a fictional world.
Jacob brought the Egyptians to the island a long time ago and they must have believed he was Ra and Smokey was another Egyptian god..that's why there is a picture of Smokey and Ra facing each other in the temple when Ben gets judged. The Egyptians clearly believed the island was a magical place concerning fertility so they built Tawaret. Jacob told Richard that everyone he brought to the island is dead....including the Egyptians.
All of those can be answered. You just did not think enough and talked to other people.
1) the island is some anomoly on the earth where special things happen. Depending on what religion you believe in or science, thats what the island is.
2) There are many symbols everywhere. There are buddhist symbols, hinduism symbols, etc. The island transports all over the world. Different people visited it and influenced the structures and buildings on the island.
3) the pool with the plug is simply a metaphor. Think about it in their perspective. In jacobs flashback as a kid he discovered magnets. He did not know what the hell magnets are he was scared. Look at his face and MIBs face. There will always be technology that does not make sense. Flying airplanes back in the 1500s? What better way to show this concept of how we are cavemen to time travel as caveman are caveman to fire than making the answer as simple as a plug?(to poke fun at us)
4) The stuatue was just a structure that was built by some random visitors of the island at some point of time. The island transports everywhere, how much more do you wanna know?
5) The MIB can't leave. We are not even sure if that is true. Think about who made the rules. Cavemen made it: jacob is a stupid man. He believed in superstitions and rituals. We know this b/c ben tells hugo that this is his island know so he can make the rules. The rules are whatever you want them to be.
6) the button was made by dharma intiative to protect the island from high electromagnetism. This was said again and again in season 6.
7) Read by answer about the pool with the plug.
8) Yea, to build character. Everything happens for a reason. The events that happened then, allowed jacob to die. These specific steps had to be taken so that the new island ruler can take over.
The whole series had some questions unanswered, but the strengh was from the ideas they toyed with
this is very funny, even though I liked the ending. I think casual viewers like me who only spent the hour a week they watched lost thinking about it were happy with the ending, while people who were really into it for the mysteries have to be devastated.

@boooyah9 I could answer all those questions except how the donkey wheel makes the island move seriously people think that some of the questions must have more mysterious answers than what seems most logical. Also are all life's mysteries answered no so why should we know all the answers to life in a fictional world.

Jacob brought the Egyptians to the island a long time ago and they must have believed he was Ra and Smokey was another Egyptian god..that's why there is a picture of Smokey and Ra facing each other in the temple when Ben gets judged. The Egyptians clearly believed the island was a magical place concerning fertility so they built Tawaret. Jacob told Richard that everyone he brought to the island is dead....including the Egyptians.
And Dharma made the button after the Incident.

All of those can be answered. You just did not think enough and talked to other people.
1) the island is some anomoly on the earth where special things happen. Depending on what religion you believe in or science, thats what the island is.
2) There are many symbols everywhere. There are buddhist symbols, hinduism symbols, etc. The island transports all over the world. Different people visited it and influenced the structures and buildings on the island.

3) the pool with the plug is simply a metaphor. Think about it in their perspective. In jacobs flashback as a kid he discovered magnets. He did not know what the hell magnets are he was scared. Look at his face and MIBs face. There will always be technology that does not make sense. Flying airplanes back in the 1500s? What better way to show this concept of how we are cavemen to time travel as caveman are caveman to fire than making the answer as simple as a plug?(to poke fun at us)

5) The MIB can't leave. We are not even sure if that is true. Think about who made the rules. Cavemen made it: jacob is a stupid man. He believed in superstitions and rituals. 8) Yea, to build character. Everything happens for a reason. The events that happened then, allowed jacob to die. These specific steps had to be taken so that the new island ruler can take over.
The whole series had some questions unanswered, but the strengh was from the ideas they toyed with

this is very funny, even though I liked the ending. I think casual viewers like me who only spent the hour a week they watched lost thinking about it were happy with the ending, while people who were really into it for the mysteries have to be devastated.

Lets be honest, whether you loved or hated the ending I think its safe to say that it was a major cop out. I hated it by the way. I actually felt sorry for the man in black. If I was on that island with a bunch of ppl tryna stop me from leaving for all eternity Id prob go crazy n kill every1 aswel. Jacob is a dickhead, he is one of the most annoying ppl ever Im glad he is dead its a pity smokey didnt get a proper chance to kill him himself. Anyway sorry for the rant but it was just rubbish.

I believe that everyone who thinks it was a good ending is either a woman, or a really stupid man. @colossalberger I'm not one of those dorky types that does that with websites for hows no offense if you or anyone else is, that's just not me this show was just different and I just had to know more. It was caleld tv-lost.com, I stopped going and then I tried it one day and it was gone. it was listed as a reference on tv.com on the lost page actually.
I agree it had some wholes but I was just kind of in respect it was over and didn't want to complain just enjoy what Lost we had left.
