@MyRed555 I agree with you, but at the same time if she was suffering from depression you can't really hold her to the same standards as anyone else. Maybe if she had a clear view of her own depression she wouldn't have taken the piss out of him, but you can't expect her to be able to hold herself to the standards most other people would.

When I read her book I felt a bit better about myself, I wasnt from a small town but I really felt I had no-one to tell about my sexuality and eventually I did tell someone and ended up getting bullied by everyone. And I was an only child like her so I had a very lonely life. I just felt like someone understood me after I read her book. It was comforting.

@sweetbutdaring Sadly i know exactly what u mean,I am Bisexual & it took me til i was 28 to "come out" because of a homophobic stepfather, We would sit in the evening when i was younger watching tv as a family & a gay/lesbian/bisexual person would come on tv and he would say such nasty things and it made me hate myself too, i felt wrong and dirty. I tried to changed how i felt but i knew i was attracted to both males and females.

I went to see her in concert last week - very funny & highly recommended! Her book 1979 about "that year" of her life is excellent & very poigniant.

Still a legend for standing up to Nigel Benn in the jungle & telling the rest what she thought of them LOL!

There is nothing sad or embarrassing about this women. She has had many social and psychological issues to deal with in her first years of life and I think she is a strong willed and honest woman to be able to publically address them. Good for you Rhona, keep up the excellent work ;)x

@XTrikkiX - Its interesting, she makes a good point about the Years in which you are aged from 13 to 14, are very pivotal years in your life. Hers was 1979, for sad reasons unfortunately. Mine was 1989 for tough, but not sad, reasons. Going to Secondary School for the first time (mine was a Boarding School too) all the pressures that come with early teenage life, especially if your a shy Teen, as I was. Not being Gay though I didn't suffer other problems like hers.

I never liked Rhona Cameron - I always thought she was harsh and depressing, however here she comes across as a really nice, much softer person who has overcome a lot of difficulties in life.

yeah she is quite harsh when she interviews richey and nicky from the manic street preachers they seem quite pissed at her she basically slags them. . . no wonder richey supposedly jumped off a bridge after spending 2 mins with her but i cant stop laughing at the interview
