amazing how a group while still in their 20's created such a splash in rock and roll, that the ripples continue and continue. They were a gift, and they were miraculous.
I just bought one to replace my AC15 at gigs where we have to use the venue amps. I still record with the AC15 and use it at gigs where possible. Check out our bands' channel 'operatorhk'..
Great demo, Mike! I, too, play a Ric 12 and the Liverpool pedal is an 'always on' piece of gear for me. I play through an old school Randall RG12 solid state amp that is pretty lifeless without something in front of it, and the Liverpool is that something. It's a super sounding box.
@mymarcom - Thanks much! I just reconfigured my pedalboard last weekend and the Liverpool pedal is permanently anchored! Sounds great with my SG & Strat too!
wow, that DOES sound awesome! I'm a musician and recording artist / singer songwriter, whose biggest influence are the Beatles...SO KUDOS to you, good sir!
Great tone...Can you get a good tone by going from a preamp..straight into the board?
I've got a couple of speaker emulations, as well. If it sounds good straight up direct injection...I'D BUY ONE RIGHT AWAY.
THIS SAVES ON A LOT OF MIC TIME AND BOTHERING MY NEIGHBORS!
@McLenison - does the di sound, pretty, much the same?
I guess my real question is this: DOES THIS UNIT COME WITH BUILT IN SPEAKER EMULATION...WAS IT DESIGNED TO BE ABLE TO GO STRAIGHT INTO A BOARD AND SOUND LIKE A MIC'D AC30?
@novanine9 - It was designed to either go into a board or amp with it's built in speaker emulation capability. It was calibrated to sound like alnico blue speakers.
@McLenison - thanks so much for taking the time to inform me on this. I will, def, get them and use them on my newer songs. I'm a recording artist. The Beatles are my number 1 influence. I've, even, corresponded with Paul McCartney a few times via my myspace page (i could tell you all about it sometimes)
You can check out my official artist website by clicking on the website url, located in my youtube channel, here.
Def, let me know what you think. I know you, already, have great taste!!
@McLenison - Yeah, by the way...that original sansAmp is, def, a keeper. I remember first hearing about it in some music mag article about how the Rolling Stones used it on one of their, then, recent albums. Really, no kiddin'...that one unit is on countless recordings in the last 20 years...
Wow... that is amazing. I've been wanting to get a Vox primarily for getting a Beatles tone but I really didn't want to put out a great deal of money on an AC-30 for just one band. I mean I LOVE The Beatles lol and their my favorite band, along with AC/DC, but I didn't want to put out that much money. But this pedal is a very nice alternative. How much would you say that you paid for this?
No need to apologize for your playing you are quite good and proficient.. you probably don't spend all your day needing to play perfect riffs UNLIKE the greats you are emulating .. Page, Lennon, Harrison.... hey few of those guys had letter perfect fingering. Meanwhile you take us through a beautiful selection of Beatle classics.. even ones they never used a 12 string on and you sounded FANTASTIC Day Tripper.. The End.. Prudence You make a case for Harrison never having put that guitar away!
can i get that sound with the liverpool pedal with a epiphone les paul and a voxad50vt (epiphone 6 strings)if it is possible can you help me please and can you give me the rpice of the pedal in usd please ok xelenta soind and thanks
Great job with this, man! Sincere thanks for turning who-knows- how- many players on to this pedal. Reading about something like this is one thing; hearing for yourself is another thing altogether. You've certainly proved that this amazing tool does exactly what it claims to do. It delivers the goods.
Great clip! And, i'll tell you one thing .... despite your entusiasm for the Tech21, that GUITAR has alot to do with your sound. That Rick is just BEEEE-U-tiful. Nothing in guitar-land can beat the angelic beauty of an amp'ed 12-string....and this coming from a gritty blues player. Thanks again. Andrew B.
Thanks for your demonstration - and really cool picks for your repertoire! Could I ask what strings you use and if you are pleased with them tonewise? They sound great to me and I haven't had much luck with my 360/12 V64. Thanks!
Wow, that really sounded like a vox. I had a Menatone top boost and i didn't think it really sounded voxy at all. i just ordered a liverpool the other day. can't wait to try it out.
McLenison: I really enjoyed your video. I need the jangle sound for the George Harrison tone as well. I, too, have a Jangle Box. Will the Tech 21 essentially replace the Jangle Box?
McLenison: I really enjoyed your video. I need the jangle sound for the George Harrison tone as well. I, too, have a Jangle Box. Will the Tech 21 essentially replace the Jangle Box?
From my experience with both,, the Liverpool pedal will give true chime like the old AC30's in any amp even solid state. Together with the Janglebox, you can really get some great additional tones with it's tone, compression and boost features. If I had to pick only one pedal to use, it would have to be the Tech 21, but both together is hard to match. Hope this helps
I ordered oithis afternoon. I'm looking forward to adding it to my pedalboard. BTW, I owned a Ric 360/12V64. String changing got old, so I sold it to a fellow member of a Beatles forum. He, in turn, sent it to a guitar tech who specializes in Rics and did a complete makeover to the original specs of George's guitar (the first 12 string Ric had ever built). Sometimes I kick myself, but I have a number of other Beatles guitars that satisfy my Beatles addiction.
Great great tone, and by the way your playing was fantastic. I'm really interested in this pedal and I think you just sold me on it. I'm also becoming more and more intrigued by the Crate Powerblock. Didn't really know much about those until recently. Sounds like a great piece of equipment to run effects through.
Thanks bipin! The order "generally" is: Tuner - Wah - Compressor - EQ - Drive - EQ - Flange/Phaser/Chorus - Noise reduction - Echo - Reverb - Volume pedal. This chain is subjective and is open to experimentation according to your ears. Doing a search on the Harmony Central effects forum might give you additional insight. Hope this helps. -Mike
hey saw your videos,m really impressd with your sound and set up brother.i bought stomp boxes bt m little confusd how to order up my pedals and all gears to get good professional sound.can u plz help with this?would be really great man ,thanx. i have, BBE pedal supply power, bossDD3, bossBD2, bossCS3, ibanez TS9, bossNS2, boss RC20XL(loop pedal), Joe satchurator dist pedal by VOX, boss CS3, line 6pod xt live, crybaby all kind of suggestions also welcome bro.hnks
It seems you have the pedal connected to the input jack on your amp. I was curious to see if you tried it connected through a effects loop (the return side) or to the power amp, acting as a pre-amp.
John, I haven't yet tried connecting it through the effects loop or direct to power amp. I was so pleased with this routing that I wanted to leave it. I may try your suggestion in the future.
That Ric sounds fantastic. I just got my LIverpool pedal yesterday and with my telecaster, I love the sound. I also have an Epiphone Casino ("Beatles guitar"), which is semi hollow body and P1 pickups. Should be fun. But I love that ringing tone unique to your Ric.
thank you! very helpful..
