The TDI... Four years later, no problems with my so called "P.O.S VW" and I'm still as happy with it as the day I bought it and I'm still riding with a smile and I can't find anything that can compare with it. If only Hondas had that impact...

@gradyboi2 No thanks, even when I looked at an MB6 I wasn't blown away by the test drive when the dealer gave me the keys and let me spin it. To me it was lazy acceleration with never-ending revs and it was lacking kick and spirit the car just felt "manufactured". It was noisy inside and I couldn't hear the radio or my music. I drove a TDI 1.9 with a remap and I was taken back by it immediately, nice turbo whoosh, shoved back in my seat, had some real kick to it and I fell in love with it.

@ButterBombMuzik I test drove a few VTI B16A2's and 1.8 MB6's and even with the Vtec they weren't anywhere near as much fun to drive as a TDI with a remap and after several test drives I made up my mind and walked away with a TDi 1.9 150. Four years on and I love it just as much as I did on the day I first drove it and I can't find anything that will compare to it. I never liked VW TDI's before I hated them, I was a hardened petrolhead but its proof that these fools have never driven a VW.

@SlipshT I was quite disappointed to hear a 1.6i 2000/W Civic going past me the other day and it sounded exactly the same as the old 1984/B 1.6 12V Honda Accord Auto we owned 20 years ago. Golfs have improved since then the 1.6 FSI's don't sound anything like the old 1980's 1.6 CL engines they sound totally different. Its just proved that Honda havn't really gone anywhere since the 1980's and they are still polishing the same old turds over a decade later...

@SlipshT Take out the Vtec you get more power? What are you on about!? If you were to put the B16A2 engine back to the conventional 6,000 revs like every other 1.6 16V its output will be 90/100bhp. The output is 145/150bhp because of the Vtec zone which kicks in during the maximum bhp output after 5,500 revs which is right at the end revs of the conventional 16V engine. I'm not going to waste my time with an incorrectly opinionated anti-VW Honda fanboy either so goodbye.

@1ns4ne1d10t if you take out the vtec the car still can goes to 8300rpm but you wil don't have that kick at 5500rpm, the vtec was invented to make a car economic at low rpm and powerfull after 5500rpm,if you take out the vtec the car looses the economy at low rpm so you will have more power and at 5500rpm there's no vtec kick but the engine outputs the same hp and goes to 8300rpm.by the way the civic without vtec it's a 1.8 NA and outputs 140hp and what about the vw 1.8l NA ?120hp?

Vtec is not what I would call a "Normally aspirated" engine because it adds turbo equivalent power after 5,500 revs in the form of a high revving variable valve timing assistance which can't be compared to a normal 6,000RPM output engine so my discussion ends here because I have no further comment. VW relies on a Turbo for Bhp, Honda relies on a Vtec for Bhp - end of discussion.

Believe me, if you have one turbo and 200+PS than your diesel smokes (because of lag). Only solution is twin turbo *evil*

origionaly it has 115hp, now it has 180. But mine only does that when I floor it.

You cant have 180hp from serial 150hp (AJM) with stock turbo, intercooler and injectors. Maximum you can get from your AJM (without relacing these parts) after chiptuning is about 160hp (but very smoking), btw. optimum is around +- 103kW/332Nm
