i love the movie. "I think I love my wife" I first heard this song there. It took me a while to find this song but I was persistant. Great song, Great Movie, The Great Chris Rock.
@antwuanh1 & CiaraNicolee: You can't understand THAT movie unless you're married trying to make time w/ your spouse in the midst of work & children...... Good Flick!!
when i first started performing at all the bars and open mic's in houston this was the sound that i was going for acid jazz/// i really love it. remember the real recognition coming from god
late night, empty curvy road downhill, Esthero's country livin' ripping the silence of the hills and my headlights lighting the darkness of the road... Never in my life I've been happier than that night.
@Rousoule oh wow what a beautiful story, i fucked her her good last night, ill tell her when im putting my dick up her ass that you still think about her. side note she gives great head, just makes you feel special.
i heard this song in a movie then i start looking for it, unfortunately in RSA u have to import it from usa. good song anyway i wonder if the whole cd is good......
i agree malehousecat, i don't really understand how artists get in for the money, and thats what causes the industry to run like it does. I still have much faith that people want to listen to good music, they just dont know it. it shows the shallowness of the depth of real ARTIST musicians we have out there
This songs the shittt, my favorite song on the album. You know I had this CD, but I never knew it was this old. 1998. Of coarse, the older the better! lol.
its funny how when i hear this song i imagine newyork and times square...i know i think i love my wife was based on new york but the song gives me that spirit..on the subway type thing with a coffee in my hand just being a free spirit..gazing into the sky having no absolute place to go..just gazing...i love songs that make me feel like this..i hope people dont think im weird its just the way music makes me imagine things
This song is comforting my soul! Somehow it makes me wanna cry but not with sad tears. Tears of comfort. For sure one of the best song I have ever heard! So... Amazing. So mindblowing! I'm hooked!
Hears a lil sleazy listen'n muziq for your sunday evening enjoyment. just the thing after a long weekend.... Great artist had a chance to catch them @ St Andrews in the late 90's... From the Album "Breath from another" Have a taste of Esthero. (no vid good sound)
@Ruckislx ...she actually did a song for a James Bond soundtrack called 'Nearly Civilized'. It is a perfect Bond song and if you like her you owe it to yourself to check it out.

yea i think everybody heard it there....I had fell asleep on the movie...woke up while this was playing..and had it downloaded b4 the end of the scene.....
Tried to find this on iTunes but none of Esthero's recordings pre-1995 have been released for downloading. Wonder if the reason why she hasn't released anything in the last 3-4 years in the States is because of how shady these major labels are... has she gone on to her own label or an indy label? Loved the remix of this song w/ GOodie Mob too.
Damn great fucking song, thats that ride slow music, late at night downtown slidin'

this music expresses such sensuality... forgive me... this whole album(experience) is farther than what the general public can handle... this is too classy for mainstream...
Several ppl asking why Esthero doesnt get the recognition she deserves! Come on guys. We who listen this type of music are "mature" ppl who understand that there is more to music than the American top 20. As long as the blind and childish music "lovers" around us think Souja whatever and POP in general is the only genre its gonna b an uphill battle for these artists. So i appeal to us to buy and support this music. Freeload less, buy more so that these kids know what real music is all about.
considering the fact that i don't consider myself mature and i listen to pop, rock, hip hop, i think thats a stereotype thats a bit too broad i would disagree with you. However, i do know that esthero never ceases to feed my inner being that hungers for the calm, beauty, slow and basically vibes i don't receive from the earth or my environment.
Well you are there olan. This has nothing to to with age. The fact that you acknowledge that this song, or this type of music means something to you makes you "musicaly mature". I say it again, there are some around us who believe that if it isnt on the US charts now, it is what they call garbage. As long as your ears are open to different genres, from different eras ur mature my friend.
@malehousecat i myself am one of the young souls you speak of, and i have been addicted to this album by Esthero since i was much younger. While i believe she doesn't get ample attention to match her skills, I also believe that it's amazing how much new music is coming out and getting attention lately. Young people know that music on the radio isn't the cream of the crop, but all music is "real" music. So please: support everyone, neglect no-one. It's only the artistic way. :)
@aAnnaWhoWasMadD I agree with you Anna; there is a lot of good new music out there. I have learnt to appreciate more and criticize less, see all types of music as an art that means something so somebody if its even only the performer lol. You have proven that physical age has nothing to do with "maturity" in appreciation genres. As young as you are, you get it, but im really not sure that most young people do. Dont you see yourself as a bit "different" listening to this?
@malehousecat hah, i agree with you on the new music front =) the younger generation these days does seem to appreciate more of the highly-produced side of music instead of the raw acoustic sounds that older generations coveted (ie. the 60s), so yeah i can see where you're coming from. I mean... i guess i do- my music tastes vary, but overall my musical interests aren't exactly the same as those around me, but i find this more interesting rather than hindering. :)
@aAnnaWhoWasMadD I'm also one of these "young souls" and I've been listening to all kinds of music since I was 15 (2007). Thank you for appreciating music for what it is and not thinking of it as "maistream" or "underground". Hate those terms, music is music and it is meant to be enjoyed full stop. Although I must say it would be nice if artists such as Esthero, Samantha James,Clara Hill,Lisa Shaw etc could receive more recognition.
She's such an awesome artist. It's ashame and sad that she hasn't gotten the recognition as an artist she derserves. I guess mainstream just isn't ready for her.
I heard this song in the movie, and I was looking everywhere like crazy. And duh Google: "I Think I Love My Wife soundtrack". Finally I found it. I love this song. I can't describe how this song makes me feel.

@badgurl5794 was the movie that you heard this song from called "SLam" by chance? that is the first movie that i heard this song from, but i got turned on to Estero's music like 2 years later when i was high and tripping on my college roommate's floor
This song is really the best about the Movie. It wasn't very good, most likely ok, but this song was totally worth watching it. I'm glad I saw it, and Kerry Washington is damn pretty.
heard this from I Think I Love My Wife. I honestly thought it was Chrisette Michelle when I heard it. She sounds just like her, or should i say Chrisette sounds like Esthero
I was invited to a senior prom a couple years back and the last song of the night got to be picked by the prom queen. It just so happened that the girl that brought me ended up being elected prom queen and she knew I loved esthero and this song, We got to slow dance the last song of the night to this song.....Shit was dope as fuck. magical even.
gotta luv this neo- soul music. Esthero, sade, jill scott, sarah macghalan (think i speeld that right lol) zero 7, adele. i call it my weed music...staight chill mode!!
same here. I bought the album because I heard the song from that movie. i was like damn that song is nice. I need it badly. I listen to that album everyday in my car. I'm glad not too many people don't know about it because it will get played out.
Yes me too. I love it. I love the movie too. I love the moral of it the sweetest thing ever after the other bullshit he loves and wants his wife over all.
Agreed. I remember just getting in my car, turning this up and driving around aimlessly whenever I was really stressed or overwhelmed during my college years.
Nine years later, I still do the same thing. Fantastic song.
i DO THAT!!! i've been daydreaming to it since middle school and i love driving around with my sunroof open to this song. I think that everyone should do that to this song
the first time i heard this song was on the movie "i think i love my wife" i love this song.everytime i hear it i think about the movie.loved the movie

I don't know who Chrisette Michelle is, but I would think she sounds like Esthero. This song is like 10 years old or more.

THANK YOU!!! This was one of my favorite songs in college and I still get misty-eyed when I think of all the road trips I took listening to this.
samandy79 3 years ago
Agreed. I remember just getting in my car, turning this up and driving around aimlessly whenever I was really stressed or overwhelmed during my college years.
Nine years later, I still do the same thing. Fantastic song.
