i think terrence is a bit off on his interpretation of capitalism. objectively capitalism makes people free er and more comfortable and it's bested every form of despotic economic planning. but we are now free to worry or wonder about much more than we could, because our efforts were much more focused on basic needs. i do think that the majority of people live unhappy lives, but all we can do is talk to them and show them what's better. let's live like brothers.
the people doing the evil in the world are lost. they have fallen into an endless sea of evil and greed, and it has blinded them from seeing the horrible effects of their actions. We need to stay strong, and understand that there will always be evil and good in this world, if you can even call it that...
How is it possible that NOBODY dislikes this guy? He is Inexcusably wrong on so many levels. "Beautiful toys" like youtube or your computer are built on the laws of the universe, not some pretty cultural misconceptions. Why must we make room in any theory for Invisible forces and precognition when there is no evidence to support these entirely speculative ideologies. Just because 1 drug addict dies in his 50s doesn't mean that "life spans" have been shortened and that "most people are miserable"
@Zanedevill Nobody who follows him dislikes him because he's a man of intellectual and philosophical perception that far surpasses the conformed and linear ideologies that you stay faithful to. Listening to what McKenna has to say, in my mind, is a privilege; a piece of treasure; a revelation perhaps. You who adhere to scientific purely empirical data as the one and only without leaving any room for mind expansion, are so close-minded it's almost hard to believe you'd prefer to think that way.
@Zanedevill I love when science worshippers argue against invisible forces, it shows that you're still treading in the shallow end of the science pool. Get informed on quantum physics and quantum mechanics, where multiple dimensions and invisible forces are quite common. That is the cutting edge of science, and when you include the cutting edge of psychopharmacology it's evident that science and spirituality are close to convergance. Nature has provided molecular compounds to travel dimensions.
@Zanedevill "He's inexcusably wrong on so many levels."
So says you, a coward calling yourself Zanedevill, hiding behind your blank anonymity & offering absolutely no references to back up your assertions. You offer nothing but baseless ridicule. What answers do you share? Where is your solution to the psychological dilemmas of today? Your response here is tasteless.
