@algiora my great grandfathers brother was a Kazakh coming back from ww1 who walked from Moscow to his village and Cossacks killed him for no reason so they are not brave but some don Cossacks were brave men apart from that they are known only for looting and pillaging.

It's a very long story, and I'm not sure how true it is, but I believe my great great great great great great great grandfather was a Tatar-Cossack who took part in the Pugachev rebellion and later fled to Poland.

Cossacks are many peoples. There are Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Greek, Tatar, and too many other peoples to count. They are not any distinct culture but the one they have created.

My uncle spend six years fighting against Germans in Home Army. Then, he was imprisoned by Soviets. My grandma was giving food for Jewes. My aunt was killed because she gave a refuge for Jews in her home. There were millions like them. But they were repressed as "fashists" and today you can read in western newspapers about "Polish death camps". Scandal!

Respect for Soviets soldiers, who died fighting against Hitler. But do you know Poland had one of the biggest armies in WW2? Our sodiers fought in every part of world. But "allies" forgot about it.
