@lolorainga ratmann is a psycho guy who was part of the making of glados, ratmann decided to stop helping with glados because he saw how evil she was becoming. every time they turned her on, she would trick them into killing them selfs. then when they thought they fixed her they started letting her test, every time the testers would almost be finshed testing, she would try to kill them. she finally killed every one, except ratmann, now he helps chell to not get killed and even kill glados.

this is what happened when glados activated one guy survived and he took pills for something and he only had one pill left when chell beat glados he saw the party escort robot taking her so he took his last pill and grabbed chell then put her in cryogenis

The Rat Man was a programmer named Doug Rattmann. He was one of the few researchers who survived when GLaDOS flooded the Enrichment Center with a deadly neurotoxin, and became a test subject. He went crazy after a while.

Because Chell wound up killing GLaDOS, he becomes obsessed with her. D:

@crabfight Not Entirely, he tried to save her cause he felt guilty for putting her in the middle of all of that crap. Rattmann is the only scientist still alive and he went crazy cause he ran out of Medication for his Schizophrenia. in Portal 2 : lab rat he was shot in the leg and some believe he died after making sure chell was safe in the relaxation chamber at the beginning of portal 2. i believe he is still there however.

There is a second secret room in that level look up and you will see that a metal beam has smashed through the glass of one of those viewing rooms using the light bridge get up there them fire a portal so you can get in!

@ShiningDesertEagle No, his name is Daniel Ratmann who has a psychological disorder. He imagined the companion cube was alive, and he was released into the facility when Chell was released in the first game. Ratmann witnessed the robot pulling you back into Aperture, so he went to the life support system making sure that Chells life support indefinatley or until someone woke her up, which is what Whetley did. Without Ratmann, Portal 2 would have never taken place.

@littlegoopyschannel Ratman was in Portal 1... He went crazy in the chambers and tried leaving clues to help others out. He was in a vent when Chell killed GLaDOS in Portal 1. He left the facility and saw chell on the floor knocked out. He then went to help but saw the robot taking her back in. Upon doing so he went back in to try and help save her and end it once and for all.
