Christianity is NOT based on Marxism...how freakin assinine! Your beloved Marxists were mass murderers and banned Christianity--Stalin slaughtered 10 million of his own countrymen, not to mention the horrors unleased by Marxist dictators around the world! It just goes to show that the Libs are the real "Radicals"--they love to throw that term around about others to deflect the truth about themselves--they are ignorant and out of touch. Common sense conservative Americans will be heard soon!
The fact that the Left holds such a hatred for this guy makes him all that much more appealing to me. Their ironic attempt to cast the mainstream in this country as extreme will be their Waterloo. Personal stories be told, FAR more common folks will feel comfortable electing Pawlenty to represent them rather than a hand-stretched Socialist cyborg from Frisco or a blackbox, sealed records Leftist like Obama. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to compare these candidates' college papers...
Tim Pawlenty is a fiscal coward and has nearly bankrupted the State of Minnesota. Pay no attention to what he says, Pay attention to what he has done. Taxes have risen dramatically for the majority of our states citizens’ directly attributable to his policies and myopic vision.

@buoyant69 Yes, I know what party controls the Mn legislature (not congress) and yes I'm proud to vote for primarily Democrats. As a small businessman with degrees in business administration, economics, biology and chemistry I own a food manufacturing company. That being said; I have some credibility on the subject of the economy as well as T-Paws pathetic performance. Much of MNs financial problems stem from the structural tax deficits created by T-Paw when he was the House Majority Leader.
@twinpine As a self-described Democrat, it does not surprise me that you would find Pawlenty's "pathetic" performance to blame for the state's current budget deficit. In MA, it's often suggested that the only reason Republicans are elected to hold any state office is so that the majority party has someone else to blame for the problems they create. It's a shame you allow pride to interfere with your financial judgement, however. What's the name of your food manufacturing company?

Typical Republican. Talk in lofty terms, using all the trigger words, wards that "real" Americans can jerk off to, but absolutely NOTHING concrete about they would actually do for this country.... but I'm being too harsh. Tax cuts for the rich, and more forever wars for the MIC, is not something you talk about when trying to get elected.
"“South St. Paul was a wonderful place to grow up. It was then the home of the world’s largest stockyards and some of the world’s largest meatpacking plants…”
I can smell the stench of the wonderful from here.
Is he kidding with this? Animals routinely abused in horrific conditions and the smell of death permeating the neighbourhood.
this guy seems very regressive. not a good kind of leader we need during a recession with millions unemployed.
his stance on unemployment insurance is pretty scary. tbh if i was working class i would not vote for any republican, they are just going to let the democrats screw you out of a job and then the republicans will force you to starve. at least with dems you get unemployment checks.
People like to throw around the term "progressive" but I am not so sure they even know what it means. Karl Marx believed history was a processes of social evolution. Marx believed society would "progress" from one stage to the next (primitive communism, barbarism, slavery, feudalism, capitalism, socialism, communism). A "progressive" is a person who believes that it is time to move society away from capitalism and "progress" toward the end stage, communism.
@LLORT3 You might use it in a different way, but that is where the term originates. In the halls of academia it is a reference to Marxism and the "progress" of history. When politicians, academics, and activists use the term "progressive" it is a code word indicating Marxism. They won't call themselves Marxists in public because they won't win elections. So they call themselves progressives in public so the voters will elect them.
Crazy lady alert at 2:52 ! I bet there was a debate among Pawlenty's staffers about putting Bachmann in there.
Honestly I don't think this ad is all that effective, in part because the music in the last half is just terrible--i.e. frantic and nerve wracking. Palin's recent "Mama Grizzlies" ad was twice as well done as this one. And I think I'm objective here because I have nothing but contempt for both TPaw and Sarah P.
History is on the side of conservatives? Name one time when conservatives won on a social issues? Social conservatives were wrong on slavery, suffrage, and civil rights. Today they're wrong on marriage, immigrant rights, and language policy.
@b2tama Nevermind that more Republicans in Congress stood up for the Civil Rights Act than Democrats did. If you'll remember, some Democrats, including the late Sen. Byrd, filibustered the Civil Rights Act.
@MooseOfReason I said conservatives, not democrats. When the south switched from being democrat to republican it was not a switch from being liberal to being conservative, it was the switch of the southern conservative base from the democratic party to the republican party. I'm talking about conservatism as an ideology that is hesitant to the change in the status quo.
@b2tama Slavery was seen as a moral wrong. Have you ever read the words to the "Battle Hymn of the Republic"? Lincoln was a Republican, on the side of individual liberty. John F. Kennedy voted against Dwight Eisenhower's first Civil Rights Act of 1957. It tore the Democratic party apart. It was only when the Democrats saw that they could co-opt civil rights and make it into an issue of "spreading the wealth" and instituting socialism that they were all for it.
@TheLibertyJane Again, I'm not talking democrat/republican, I'm talking conservative/progressive. In this sense I am talking about social conservatism as an ideology that is resistant to change. There have always been and still are social conservative in the democratic party. This used to be the southern base. In the past there were progressive republicans, but you nutcases ran them all out of town.
MN has a proud tradition of progressive Republicans. You ain't no progressive. You represent just a tiny sliver of the population- right wing idealogs. Not pragmatists. Incorrigible idealogs.
Worst thing about not having you on the Fall ballot for re-election is I won't have a chance to vote against you.
Government Pawlenty, you claim to be on "the side of freedom" and of "limited government," yet you are against allowing certain members of our society the freedom to marry the person of their choosing.
