I just came back from Ireland (and I was in Galway - to die for!) and I wanted to go back with SWAP, but I'm worried about finding a job there, what kind of things are available? Is it difficult to find work? Where did you work?
Hey hey!!! (this is epilogpicutures on another account)
Okay so finding a job is difficult. If you spend enough time there though and are willing to do anything you'll eventually find something. I spend almost a month looking for a job every day. There is not much because the place is so small but they really like hiring Canadians and Americans. Just make sure to say you will be here on a working visa for 1-year. They like that rather than 6-7 months. Good lucK!!!! :)
Hey so great video thanks for posting it.. how was it finding a job in ireland I definitely want to go do the ireland swap once i get enough money ... but just wondering if you have any advice as to job hunting and where to live.
Hey it looks like your are really enjoying this SWAP program. I learned about it throught this other program called Katimavik.... I was thinking about doing the Ireland Swap. Where abouts where you working? I was hoping to work near Londonderry/Derry?
Scotland is a BEAUTIFUL place and I was lucky to have visited for a short time. The Highlands are a MUST SEE! Ireland is also quite beautiful so it's hard to go wrong. As for why you should head out of Dublin? Well, to me Dublin is not an appropriate representation of Ireland. You need to get out of the big city & see some of the smaller towns. Not only is the scenery far superior to a busy metropolis but the people you’ll meet & towns you’ll see will make you understand what I’m talking about.
I'm really want to go to Ireland through SWAP too. I found this video through their website, haha. Would you recommend it? Haha, judging by this video I think I know your answer
How much money do you need to bring with you ??
