For those of you wondering what mushrooms are like I can only say that this movie captures the mentality of it all, but I'm not saying that drugs are the only way to experience types of media, just that it's a good relate-able medium to describe an altered state of mind.
@ParkerAultman Bingo! haha, interesting that It took over a year for someone to find! This was actually a college assigment, recreate an official movie trailer using only the movie as source material. So there you have it, congratulations on the find :)
@HenryConway007 im talking in anticipation...so your saying that batman begins, the dark knight, the prestige and inception were all bad? lol, horrible taste in movies
@ImINFAM0US “Batman Begins” is a good movie, within its grene, but not a great film or great art, by any measure. “The Dark Knight” is a vastly disappointing follow-up, most overhyped film in Hollywood history. Never seen “Inception”.
Don’t talk about a film unless you’ve seen it. There was also significant anticipation for “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace”. Look how that turned out.
@HenryConway007 ive seen all of chris nolans movies, obviously you havent. Therefore, your opinion really doesnt matter because its not coming from a valid source.
@ImINFAM0US You’re right. I haven’t seen all of his films. I never made theat claim. But overall, I’ve probably seen more films than you’ve seen. How many of Stanley Kubrick’s films have you seen? Orson Welles? Terrence Malick? Woody Allen? Yasujiro Ozu? Akira Kurosawa? Ingmar Bergman? Michelangelo Antonioni? Federico Fellini? Charlie Chaplin? Hmm?
@HenryConway007 Your logic is not only unsound, but your argument is bullshit. You give no reasons for your statements or back up anything you said whatsoever. You destroy any credibility you would've had by admitting you haven't even seen some of his films. Just shut up. Just quit talking. The world will be better for it.
@Pfenixfire08 And what reasons have you given for them being masterpieces?
Also you realize that YouTube comments only allow you a small amount of space to comment. I do have reasons, but the space I’m given doesn’t really allow me to go into detail.
@HenryConway007 actually that's true and happened to me all the time. and u can't really argue in this litlle space , and ofc u can write more then 1 comment but everything will be such a mess
Actually I believe that the scene where he had the I've done it tattoo is just his imagination. He was with his wife in that scene and his wife had long been dead. :/
@bloodhunterx nope, you're wrong, his wife was not dead from the rape, she survived, but he still had the illness, but his wife later on died due to overdose because he injected her over and over because he did not remember. He had killed the real raper before the wife died
Hands down one of the greatest suspense thrillers of all time.....its almost hitchcockian in its achievement....Hats off really to christ nolan....what a marvelous film director....i am loving watching him grow from strength to strength that too in my time....
this movie could of won an oscar but nope. you know why? wheres his tattoo of "ive done it" at 0:49 and through out the movie? nolan should of done a better job of hiding it. like her hand over his tattoo or whatever he can to save this movie. i was hooked and thought this movie was the shit until i notice that one big hole in this movie. if he saw that "ive done it", he would just stop! lol
@iamthelocust I don't think you can call anything "real" :/ Ultimately it could be the directors choice to make it ambigious and upto the audiences own interpretation
I don't see why people think this movie is so confusing. I mean, after the first time you'll be like "WHAT THE FUCK?" but if you don't over look anything and pay attention you'll understand it fully after 2 to 3 viewings tops. Not to say that it isn't good, this is one of my top ten favorite movies of all time. Nolan is a genius. When he's gone he'll be remembered as one of the greatest film makers of all time.
@maffernm if you drag your curser around the small screen a box in the right hand corner will appear. it will say "download this video" and press it. then you wait until the blue bar fills up and you check real player and watch the trailer again.
this is a good movie, but i didn't get it! i know the colour sequences start from the end of the film, and the black and white sequences are in order. now did lenard kill his wife, or did the woman get him to kill the wrong, person?
@nuttynicky390 two random guys raped his wife but did not kill her, then the main char and lenny went out to kill the one of the rapists (the other one was dead) and at the same time the main guy was suffering from memory loss which his wife couldnt handle so she killed herself by overdoasing at his command, then the guy and lenny killed the rapist but the guy forgot that they had ever done so in the first place and when lenny told him that he'd killed the guy he didnt like it because.........
@nuttynicky390......he wanted to remember that he'd killed him so that he could feel as if he had avenged his wife whom he thought was dead since his last memory was her looking as if she was dead when infact she wasnt so he kept forgetting her existence, so then lenny saw another criminal by the same name as the oroginial rapost so he set the main guy out to kill him but he forgot it again and the circle went on....he kills a different john g every year because he forgets that he had killed him
hey...all this movie is about memory...but for many thin gs its became habit such for specific path way..for eating...for water wet u don,t have to memeorise it.....good movie..
@lmnacoustico God it's so sad to look at a movie like this. If this is how you see movies, please watch random action movies, but not true masterpieces which in fact really are logical and have deeper meaning than what you just "see".
@WieFunktioniertMathe Man I don't think it's that simple. This is how I would put Mobspeak's idea : The meaning and the form of a movie are beyond rational constraints and may break logical rules in the name of artistic value. And I don't even think that it's a risky statement.
lol the basis for this movie is just so ridiculous .. he says "since my injury I haven't been able to make new memories" ok this doesn't make sense because of one simple fact.. the injury came first then came either the realization that he can't make new memories or, the fact that someone had to tell him that he couldn't make new memories ..like a doctor.. either way that would in itself be a new memory .. so how would he remember to tell people that he isn't able to make new memories??
@mobspeak from what I understood during the movie, he is able to create some habits through repetition. In the movie he teaches himself to look in certain places for notes.
@mobspeak He can learn instincts via repetition, i mean if you come around and your stood in a resturant you would instinctively know that you have been doing somthing but forgot. Its like when he falls asleep with the prostitute. For a moment he actually thinks his wife is still alive because of how he responds to his surroundings. Also the tattoo "remember sammy jankins" is a constant reminder to him about the memory loss condition.
@mobspeak What these others are trying to say to you is that, like it says in the trailer, it feels like he's just woken up. He would no something was wrong, and he would have a doctor no doubt telling him about his condition. This would become a habit, and it's probably the first thing to come to his mind everytime he's confused.
@mobspeak he explains in the movie, somethings are certainties like how he knows waters wet and rocks are heavy. same for knowing he cant make new memories.
@NINTEND0PR0 asking questions is not idiotic.. not asking questions is.. he who thinks he knows everything will have a hard time learning.. besides, I haven't seen the film, I was asking because I wanted to see if people had seen it, and what they got from it.. I was curious.. but this is an old comment and have lost interest a long time ago.. don't know why you would respond to such an old comment.
@NINTEND0PR0 what seems ridiculous as a concept to me.. might make sense to you, and what makes sense to you might be considered ridiculous by others.. it's called individuality, welcome the human race.
@mobspeak You didn't say it looked ridiculous for you, you said it was actually ridiculous. YOU didn't understand that we don't see it the same way (and you can't even say this, you don't know what you're calling ridiculous). Now stop trying to look smart and read your first comment again.
@NINTEND0PR0 yeah you win... after all my number one ambition in life isn't to try and win every single youtube argument, unlike you I actually have a life. You must feel like a god with Adonis DNA.. DUH.. WINNING!
For those of you wondering what mushrooms are like I can only say that this movie captures the mentality of it all, but I'm not saying that drugs are the only way to experience types of media, just that it's a good relate-able medium to describe an altered state of mind.
