His father, King Gustaf, is Swedish... His mother, Queen Silvia, is daughter of German father and Brazilian mother.

Therefore, these are Carl's heritages. See? Not that complicated!

@mrlopez2681 No they are not. In the 1800s sweden gave the throne to a frenchman Jean Babtiste Bernadotte who was a general under Napoleon. That alot of germans married in to the Bernadottes later doesnt change the fact that they are a French family by blood.

@ikna88 The Swedish parliament took it away from him when they changed the succession law. Carl Philip was born Crown Prince and the change to the law was made after his birth. So yes, they did take it away from him. They should have respected the law under which Carl Philip was born, and make the changes affecting Carl Philip's descendants. I don't care if it is a King or a Queen, but I am a strong believer in natural law. I am sure Victory will be a fine Head of State.

@humboldt777 I agree that was bad timing...that crap should have been sorted out before the King and Queen had children. Once they had children it should have remained as it was with the decree affecting Carl Philip's descendents like you said, and leaving him as future King.

That said, I LOVE Victoria...she is said to be very sweet and kind and I can see that. Maybe these things happen for a reason...
