hehe u can actually buy seeds on ebay.. not this exact species, but Stylidium nonetheless... good luck growing them, though! Australian plants (like these) are often adapted to very specific soil conditions (eg low water or nutrients.. phosphate / nitrate etc) and they only flower for a month or so every year... then most likely die :) getting them to grow will be tricky.. getting them to flower almost impossible! make sure you get some good instructions for growing them!!

Nice examples of triggerplants! It's actually not a modified petal, though. It's the fused male and female reproductive organs, known as a column. Similar structures are found in some orchids.

I don't believe Stylidium schoenoides is endangered, so messing around with it like that shouldn't be illegal...

since u asked so nicely.. and i happened upon a whole heap of artwork from FSOL ISDN sitting there waiting to be used .. its not an easy track to get!! i got the CD in 95! it was available recently on bit torrent (somewhere??!?)

my mate just got a crazy vinyl recorder machine so ... rare vinyl coming my way :)
