Because NY had the biggest park in baseball, they had the most ticket revenue, and the most money to spend, so they signed most of the up and coming talent. That's the point I was making. From when the draft was implemented, to the beginning of free agency, the Yankees won ZERO titles, because they no longer had an advantage over everyone else. Baseball needs a hard cap to level the field.
