  • Hank III says he plays dark, and Williams Sr. plays light, but man....this is pretty heavy right here.

  • The great thing about Hank Sr is that he wasn't afraid to sing his own stuff. He set the mold for the singer-songwriter that wasn't really picked up until Buddy Holly...

  • There will never be music like this again and that’s whats truly sad.

  • HANK SR, JR, III ROCKS MY WORLD

  • I've always loved Hank,, I can hear the pain in his voice and it always sends chills down my spine, CMT and Nashville today needs to take lessons

  • Dark, haunting, ACTUAL country music. You can't fake the emotion present in this song. How did country music go from this to that hack Taylor Swift and all the other goons who don't write or even sing their music??

  • @DevoBassGirl You can say that again!

  • This is country.....thats all she wrote..

  • There is no country singer/song writer with more heart or talent. I grew up on Hank Williams and Roy Acuff. 63 years later I still love their music.

  • no one will ever be anywere as talented as this man he will live forever in all our hearts i have all 78s all eps and lps radiorec

  • OLD TIME

  • Cette chanson vous transperce le cœur!

De loin ma préférée d'Hank Williams

  • man this song is chilling...touched the very depth of the heart and soul

  • Great. Have u more of these?

  • Best songwriter PERIOD.

  • @LUKEMCGRATH

    Damn straight!!!

  • this song give me the chills...very very haunting ...or is that an understatement....lol

  • Ooooooh, spooky. THAT'S the Devil at the railroad tracks, just a-playin' before signs away your soul.

  • Is it just me, or does this song have a certain Cab Calloway element to it?

  • I'm just am old fart that grew up with this stuff. One thing that makes Hank's music so great it that it's from the heart. He's lived it and he's playing it for us. People love it for what it is; in the States, Japan, Phillipines, Hong Kong, wherever. It's sad, tear jerking music, but from the heart, and that's why people love it. Ramblin Man is one of my favorites. Drank many a beers while listening to it in Sasebo, Japan, circa 1965.

  • Oh yea. What you said about HANK is more than true.

HANK WILLIAMS wrote the book on singer songwriter material. Everyone else (no matter how great and original) all take something from him.

And its all real life material....which is also why its timeless.

  • i agree, 1000percent,'diesel1448'...sends chills down your spine. its Hauntingly great country ! ..and no-body, 'no-body' should even sing it but HANK !

  • thanks for posting, i've always loved this. i love you baby, but you got to understand..

  • Thanks for uploading!

The soundtrack of my life ;)

  • I think something in this song is a bit scary... maybe the sound..

  • It really sounds good. I am impressed. Ramblin Man is one of my favortie Hanks. Did you check out my vid of Hank's Jambalaya on the antique PAL phonograph? I found a guy in Texas that sells the steel needles so I am (hopefully) set for life with this thing. I love it. I am obsessed with finding cool 78's.

  • I have Ramblin Man on 78 as well but mine does not sound as crisp as yours. I am playing on an antique phonograph, however. What are you playing on?

  • actually this video was on my CALIFONE record player, no reciever or anything. Its an old carry along cheap player.

The needle probably needs to be changed, but I don't use it often.

Sometimes the worst setups can give the best sounds....its really wierd.

  • I have just added a video clip of Hank doing Jambalaya (also on 78) I have really enjoyed your clip of Ramblin Man, the sound quality is great!!

  • cool, thanks!

I just used my digi. camera, the sound is right from my record player to the camera, overall the sound comes out nice for most of my 78's.
