  • there's people who make millions from the current methods of supplying electricity, a device like this can maybe even be perfected to the point where they can be installed in homes, and provide free electricity, and when people get something for free, it always means someone doesn't get paid, and in other for them to get paid they inve$t in (buy) the goverment and your idea is scraped. just like better batteries, fuel, and other types of clean energy, they are always suppressed from the public.

  • @OpCharlieBravo

    right on, thanks

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!! I totaly approve the use of drinky drinky birds to solve half the worlds problems =)

  • @minimartin3

send credit card, pin #, and social security card .. we will take care of the paper work

  • I hope this video is not serious. These birds are not perpetual motion. U would need a million of these things just to output a basic ammount of energy. And youre going to expell more energy filling the glasses with water. I own 1 of these birds and they only last about 2 days on a glass b4 too much water has evaporated or leaked down the body. The only way for this to work would be to put them by a natural body of water, but we already have something much more effecient, hydroeletricity.

  • @007craft

thank you, just having a little tongue in cheek fun- happy new year

  • except the energy requirements are continually filling up that cup with water and getting his head wet. check out the sixtysymbols video on this guy- they actually understand what it going on

  • @robotoop

    thank you

  • Nop, sorry Thermodynamic sez you cannot haz no perpetuum mobile.

  • @WuSchell

never heard of him, was he famous?

  • I for one like this, this video is a step closer to the earth lasting 4ever

  • @117Burn

Thank you and much respect to Mother Earth

  • Make one of these 100X plus larger, have it hooked up to and charging several batteries. Show the several batteries running something -- a light -- a heater -- an AC -- a CD player playing harp songs. Something practical. If you can make a harp out of PVC you can make this.

  • @steven189111

thank, we'll put you in charge of R&D

  • I'm interested, how can I contact you?

  • @8bumgarner

    you just did or--- kovac.jg@gmail,com

  • quem é brasileiro da joinha!

  • @jhandrade27

    molto bene y gracias

  • why people are so stupid -_-

  • I am jgkovac's main competitor. Currently with over 9000 of these perpetual energy machines working in a synergistic fashion. I could explain more but you probably wouldn't understand. Obviously I have the headstart on this operation...contact me potential investors.

  • Okay. I will give you a million bucks, but you must promise me every single day put million glasses with fresh water in front of such million 'working birds' (and before those birds spent all water). Deal? :D

I mean, idea is okay, but it so low energy density. Wind and solar energy is sometimes good just enough for 'folk music', but surely not enough for "solution to world energy problems".

Not to mention how much production lines will spent energy in order to build such generators.

  • @MilanKarakas

thanks, you are very poetic for an engineer- i like the folk music reference

  • Oh, hmm... "no pollutant". But, what nasty chemical is inside the bird?

  • @MilanKarakas

i think it has been cleaned up from the old days, but will check into it, perhaps it;s Gatorade or Red Bull

  • @jgkovac Dichloromethane!!!

    From wikipedia:

"Despite the drinking bird's appearance and classification as a toy, some safety considerations apply. Early models were often filled with highly flammable substances. The fluid in later versions is nonflammable. Dichloromethane can irritate the skin on contact, and the lungs if inhaled; it is a mutagen and teratogen, and potentially a carcinogen. The intact toy is leakproof and completely safe, but if broken hazardous dichloromethane is released."

  • How many million drinking birds are needed to power a small city?

  • @MucusFelidae

I figure about a google squared, give or take a few trillion

  • @jgkovac It's actually spelled Googol. Google is a search engine.

  • @yoman258

thanks i knew there was a difference, but wasn't quite sure of spelling, really appreciate it

  • Yeah lol 3 µA

and whats about solar energy out of the deserts???

a surface big as bavaria is engough energy for the world!

and if u build solar powered solar panel factorys in africa

then the africanish ppl could distill water, run washing machines, fridges, etc.

  • @web1bastler

    thanks for the feedback

  • SERIOUS electricity?

If you actually did some math, you'd see it's an extremely inefficient heat engine. It's powered by the temperature differential between its container and the beak when water evaporates from it.

You actually have no clue how the bird works. And it's sad to see the typical "THEY don't let this catch on because of the money" discussion. Very sad.

  • @endimion17 Just having fun, but I read ( i don't know if it's true) but supposedly Einstein, was shown one of the birds, and was at a loss to explain it' operation

  • There is no energy problem, the only problem we are facing are those MF which are so greedy they need to make money out of everything. Those same MF buried all the free energy inventions/discoveries.

If they had funded Mr. Tesla, we'd all be having free energy today.

  • @Mikeyc826

i agree with a lot of what you say

  • (correction) ...power to a small country.

The power is in our hands - more specifically, our typing fingers.

  • Great video. I think the solution to the world energy crisis lies in utilizing computer keyboards with tiny transducers that produce pulses of electricity with every keystroke. Networks of capacitors and rectifiers would connect with huge batteries and, well, you get the picture. All the frantic comment typing by know-it-all kids on YouTube alone could provide power a small country. Cheers.

  • @sibco96

thanks , once things get off the ground we will put you in charge of research and development

  • IT KEEPS HITTING ITS BUTT ON THE WOOD D:

  • @JaJani101

the devil is always in the details

  • "If you don't have more than a million dollars, don't bother" ... ok, how about YOU prove this on a larger scale first before you start demanding all sorts of money.

  • @jaries12

thanks, we need research and development money

  • @jgkovac You need to prove that it works on a larger scale BEFORE anyone will fund this device as renewable energy, you can just demand a million dollars from a high school experiment. Also... if it's such a great idea, someone else with the money will do it before you.

  • @jaries12 you CAN'T **

  • @FARMERpizz

    Great insights, thanks

  • You would need a few square miles of these birds to power a house and every house hold doesn't have the money or land to spare. This is not going to work.

  • @Adrianlunnon

thanks, maybe we can start in Kansas or Wyoming

  • If you're not being facetious then you need a shrink if you think someone is going to give you investment money on a bird brained(pun intended) idea like this

  • @HiFiman4u

    well said

  • Oh just thought you might like to know, Albert Einstein couldn't figure out how these worked. He was at a dinner party when he saw one, and he was baffled by how it just kept on going.

  • @Lemenks

thanks, i guess i'm in good company

  • wow nice. I like free energy, only about 10million of these working for a year 2 boil a single kettle? So all we need then is to only boil the kettle once a year and we got free energy for ever!

  • @Lemenks

well, we might be able to boil a very very small kettle if we were lucky

  • uhh... it works by evaporating the water really slowly.. thats where it gets its energy from. you'd have to have some way of refilling the water

  • @pumitaproductions

thanks, we'll have the installation by a river

  • @jgkovac TSS

  • It does no matter how big and efficient this bird is. As soon as you make something the government cannot put taxes on, they will finally figure out how to. You cannot even have your own vindmill generator if it produce energy enough to power you house. If "they" get to know what you're doing, "they" will take the windmill down, and give you a ticket. "They" assume you will sell this energy.

  • @jallaguri

    thanks for the 'heads up'

  • they should make a giant one of these

  • now you just need 1million of these and were all good :D!

  • @C2xEditor

    thanks, only 999,999 to go

  • Cute video, hope is stronger than knowledge.

  • @dariofercho

    thanks hope springs eternal

  • it's not perpetual, is it?? You have to supply the water when it runs out rite?

  • @tringuyen552911

you are correct, just having fun and taking poetic license, thanks

  • @tringuyen552911 it doesnt actually drink the water.. lol it just makes it move.. the water remains in the bowl. youd have to refill the bowl after it evaporated though i guess..

  • @Ravalat In the vid, the guy says it drinks water and that water mix with the internal of the bird keeps it moving. But then again, I could be wrong

  • @tringuyen552911 yeah, its just his description of the action i guess, we have one of these. they dont actually drink it . lol

  • Is this a joke? o.O you aren't taking in consideration the second law of thermodynamics ...

  • @YenisseiM

so sorry, didn't mean to break any laws, please don't tell the authorities. would consider making you an offer of employment in the company if you don't tell law enforcement. thanks, ( i have a family to support, including a nice dog)

  • How would you implement these to an actual town if you don't even know how they work?

  • @HovarProductions

this was meant somewhat tongue in cheek

  • @jgkovac What i would say is make a 'giant' one as that would create alot more energy etc... :)

  • You would make a better point if you showed another hooked up to a battery to charge it.

  • @nynoah

    thanks very much

  • Have you tried doing a Kickstarter project?

  • @TheObimara

just what you see, waiting for a Government grant to go big time

  • Thanks for sharing LoL About the damnedest thing I've ever seen anyone put on you tube.Loved it.Thumbs up Tec Still laughing

  • @tectalabyss

    thanks, very kind of you

  • is a good idea if you gan get a big one

  • @jonnygreaves123

    excellent idea

  • gay as fuck!!

  • @thunderpower5

    i hope that's a compliment, thanks

  • You could just set them up along the world's oceans, except for one huge problem:

What happens when the birds drink all the world's water?!?!?!?!?! :O

  • @yaziyo

Brilliant, maybe we can start with the Great Lakes

  • yeah im sure the millionaires will be lining up in a flash. the amount of energy they put out is totally useless. furthermore the amount of waste youd produce wiring up 1 million of those stupid birds would totally defeat the purpose of being enviornmentally friendly. hydro electric is the way to go, this idea is moronic

  • @MrToiletface

well, at least you got the joke

  • Re:minor gltches, Will need a way of keeping water topped up due to evaporation, otherwise little birdie stop worky xD

    Cheers

  • @eimey

thanks, we need good engineering, great idea

  • "Minor details to work out". You mean like hooking a load to the bird? .3 microamps probably won't power your kitchen stove very well. You need to look something REALLY simple like have it blink an LED. More impressive than a meter barely moving. How about putting a magnet on it's real end and have a coil of wire which could have the magnet induce a field into. That might get you a little more usable current. Cute video though. Good luck patenting it.

  • All you need to do is scale up your project. You don't need a million birds. One big one would do. If you can't scale it up, there's something wrong with your theory. Also, energy cannot be created out of thin air. Read the laws of thermodynamics. Where is the energy coming from?

  • ive got a million dollars

  • @EPICPr0ductions31

great, we can make you vice president

  • If I was a vice president of product design I would demonstrate how a septic tank can be modified to produce electricty, pure water, and hydrogen gas from sewage. This is the future, make a video about something worthwhile.

  • @coburleson

thanks, just a little lighthearted fun. thanks for watching

  • This is the most stupid video I have ever seen. Perpetual motion are you serious? This guy is really stupid!!!!!!

  • @coburleson

would you care to be vice president in charge of product design?

  • @jgkovac

Yes, I accept your offer to be vice president of product design. I can solve the few little problems we have with the laws of thermodynamics. Also If we invest in the solvent inside the birds and the hundreds of thousands of gallons of all-purpose oil we will need to make the pivot run squeak free, we have the possibility to make millions on top of what we will already make with this genius technology. Please leave a message with my secretary when you can get back to me.

  • @poplug

ok thanks, we will pay you in stock offerings

  • in fact is a stirling engine .

  • @akapavi

    thanks, just having fun

  • Comment removed

  • energy in=energy out

  • a drinking bird is not a perpetual motion machine,

in fact it is the opposite... the mechanism looses energy as it goes along..

the bird slowly will reach a temperature equilibrium with the water, and then it will stop moving

so in short, you clearly never took freshman level chemestry (or you just didn't pay attention)

  • @datawraith3080

thanks, i think i had add before they invented Ridilon

  • @jgkovac your point? if you don't understand something, don't pretend that you do...

face it, your idea is fundamentally flawed

  • @datawraith3080

it was meant tongue in cheek

  • @jgkovac dont worry bout the haters, an idea is only as good as those who will improve upon it. some people just want to be fukin kno it alls but just look like assholes with no constructive criticism whatsoever.

  • @datawraith3080

    E=MC 2

Just kidding, thanks- this was meant a little tongue in cheek

  • @jgkovac fair enough hehe

to tell you the truth, i try not to hate, and i honestly would love it if the drinking bird could create energy and save the planet... the problem is that it won't do it, and frankly speaking, fundamentally flawed is the kindest way i could think to state the fact of the matter as.

    keep thinking

  • Does it need the water?

  • @theswedenmovie

needs something to wet the beak, since as the water evaporates, it cools the beak

  • @jgkovac So u need to refill water after like 1000 years?:P

No, But i can maybe have a need for this..

  • @theswedenmovie

    well maybe like l000 hours

  • @jgkovac Rain water.. :P

  • @jgkovac What do u call the bird? Like what to search for on ebay?

  • @theswedenmovie

dunking bird, i call mine ERnest

  • Very nice! Hope this catches on.

  • @wyrrox

    thanks

  • @wyrrox

that's a great phrase, but understand this requires a sense of humor. thanks

  • Problems solved :) Such a serious issue realy need some joker like you arround.

  • @sulhassan

thanks, glad some people got it.

  • Problems solved :)

  • Problem, energyfags? #trollscience

  • is this a joke lol nice idea though.

  • @haz939

    maybe, thanks

  • @jgkovac only one problem... to make all those birds you must use loooots of plastic and chemicals.. otherwise a good idea

  • @davidthe1

    good observation

  • is this a joke lol

  • The ultimate source of energy is the temperature gradient between the toy and the surrounding environment—the toy is not a perpetual motion machine. A recent analysis showed that the evaporative heat flux driving a small bird was about 0.5 W, whereas the mechanical power expressed in its motion was about 50 microwatts, or a total system efficiency of about 0.01%. More practically, about 1 microwatt can be extracted from the bird, either with a coil/magnet or a ratchet used to winch paperclips.

  • @4pef

thanks, that is the best explanation so far as to what's going on- this whole thing was meant sort of tongue in cheek, very kind of you

  • Will this generate more energy than the energy required to get the oil and make the plastic and create the liquid gunk inside and assemble the bird and truck all the pieces from China to Arizona and supply the water that is being evaporated away to run the thing. The plastic is made from FOREIGN OIL !!! How much energy to create the methyl choride inside ? how much for the piping to keep the water reservoirs filled. How about the energy to build the water reservoirs? Where is THE BIG PICTURE

  • But one question, the water needs to be cooler than the surrounding am i right? because if that is the case, you might put more energy in it than you get out it

  • think about this= the whole desert full of these things XD sounds funny

  • @basbas63

how about a bunch on top of every building in the world - big ones, that is, birds, i mean

  • @basbas63

the devil is always in the details

  • 66 people are energy suppressionists.

  • @ChaoticCubizm

why 66? how did you come up with that number?

  • @jgkovac

    The video has 66 dislikes.

  • @jgkovac dislikes

  • @jgkovac

oh now I get it, thanks

  • i found out it can use both, either isopropyl alcohol or chloro methane, methyl chloride

  • @bulletproof2353

well maybe they changed the formula, but about 30 years ago i broke one by mistake and it really stained and ruined the surface it fell on ( turned it bright red)- thanks for the info

  • it works on a similar principal as a stirling engine,it uses variant differences in tempature to create motion, and im pretty sure its a vaccume ,that would make more sense i think .as the alcohol would evaporate to a gas or a mist more easily in a vaccume ,and with a much lower temp ,its the same as those similar looking glass bulbs that boil when u hold them, from just the heat of your hand, same alcohol &vaccume almost same design glassware

  • @bulletproof2353

thanks for the input, that is very kind of you. will look into it

  • nah im just about positive its alcohol and its either in a vacumme or under pressure

and the water is cold so it doesnt evaporate it,it condenses it ,the alcohol evaporates and travels up the tube ,then when the top of the bulb is cooled by the water the alcohol condenses back to a liquid and drips back down, the ambient heat in the room evaporates some of the alcohol, then the vapor floats up top ,gets cooled by the water & condenses back to liquid, drips down, thus creating the swinging motion

  • do those things really need the glass of water there? or will it work without it?

does the water in the glass cool the temp of the alcohol in the bird when the beak dips into the water?or is the water glass there for asthetics, also more power could be generated if you also glue a small neodym magnet to the bottom underside of the bulb, then place a coil of wire under it,everytime the magnet swings back and fort over the coil it will induce a current

  • @bulletproof2353

needs the water to help evaporate the red stuff, which i dont think is alcohol but some noxious chemical

  • I have had the "Happy Drinking Bird" they are really cool. This bird could take the place ot "The Pink Lawn Flamingos" ! Anyone know what ever happened to the Pink Lawn Flamingos?

  • @1foxtrot70

i think they morphed into drinking birds

  • With each drop, water is moving from higher level to lower. You are converting water's gravitational energy into electrical, just as in waterwheel.

  • @630MillionGods

    great observation, thanks

  • What about the welfare of the birds? Oh, and they won't work if it's too cold, they will refuse.

  • @mattgwilson

    dont tell PETA

  • so, it's steampunk after all...

  • @VonManavis

t think you've hit on something

  • @jgkovac

I don't know, maybe it's a good base for a future investment, but the scale, meh. A battery charger based on that would be nice. Anyway, good luck!

  • it is a simple heat engine, witch if you think this idea is viable you should research,

and maybe look at some purpose built heat engines,

cause the bank will laugh at ye.

  • @theomnificentPK

    thanks very much

  • AMAZING! But how many atomic reactors we can turn off in the near future?

  • @ChrisLuxembourg

i figure roughly a billion birds per kilowatt hour, give or take a few billion

  • @jgkovac Not far away from me is an 4 blocks atomic reactor with total 5.2GWATTs. If I calculated right, 1.000.000.000.000 birds X 5200.000kWATTs = 5200.000.000.000.000.000 birds

Maybe we need sometimes to much energy, but I think our energy problems are not figured out in the near future! A better calculation: I you'll ride a bicycle you can drive with that power which a car only use for the lights!

  • @ChrisLuxembourg

thanks, well that sounds attainable, at least it's a start. but right on about the bike- thank you

  • 1. Attach generator to water bird

    2. Produce tones of electricity

    3. Sell electricity for profit

    4. ??????

    5. ELECTRICITY COMPANIES WILL GO BANKRUPT!!! =D

    Problem Pollution?

  • :)) nice joke

  • @Aurelian0610

finally, someone who got the joke

  • A few microamps? Then it would take a million birds just to make a few amps. That's not enough to power my 12 amp vacuum cleaner.

  • @john17972

    maybe an 11 amp vac?

  • @jgkovac How much power?

  • @mrfrankincense

    unfortunately, not very much

  • I have 12 dollars, a thumb tac and a 6 month's subscription to nick magazine and I'd like to invest

  • @lotrwalrus

    thanks, that's a start

  • You are joking about investors right? Because if you really think you're going to buy a trillion of these birds as a solution to the energy crisis, that is hilarious!

  • @AntonBowie

we only need another million to start the project, can we put you down for a million?

  • @jgkovac You can put me down for a Ross Double V stirling engine

  • @AntonBowie

    i'd like one myself vcx

  • put a magnet on the bottom of the bird.. counter balance the top.

put coils next to the magnet swings.

  • I highly doubt the efficiency of this model at larger scales. How long would one of these at gigantic size need to be running just to even out the energy used in creating such thing?

  • Your ideals are correct, but u are so dam stupid.
