@ForImperium Well I am sorry to hear about your loss, but communism/socialism is not by its nature an ideology that endorses violence or murder. You may argue that it has had a tendency to lead to heinous acts of brutality, but these are no worse than the acts performed in the name of "Western Idealism". I oppose war, inequality and capitalism, and as a Marxist I do not believe people must be forced to abandon the need for these.

It's ideology does not evoke such, agreed. But it's practice, it's inherent consideration of power does not assume the corruptive power of power on man. It always a natural progression. Read the works by former Communist, Leszek Kołakowski.

You should not paint every socialist with the same brush. The Socialist Alliance of Australia are mostly grass roots reformists and active philanthropists (who really only have time to donate). I will be honest, I'm not a Capitalist either; I support distributionism.

However Pip Hinman has clearly adopted Communism, an ideology which cares little for the working class in practice.

Don't try to suggest that somehow Communism is "charity", millions of my compatriots, my own family even paid for this with their lives.
