I just got back one week ago from Rothenburg for a trip to Germany, I loved it. Rothenburg is so beautiful.. I would love to go back at Christmas time (it being the official Christmas city of the world).
Excellent tour this man gives. I highly recommend seeing him. I also recommend visiting the Christmas store there, Kathe Wolfahrt (I'm sure I butchered the name). Take a walk on the city wall and visit the torture museum.

We got to see the tour in the snow on Dec 18! We loved it, and yes, we paid too. After all, the Nightwatchman has bills to pay as well! What amazes me is his enthusiasm and ability to make each and every tour seem like the only one. As if his tour of people is the only group to whom he'll tell the story.

If you go in early May, it isn't crowded. This guy was great, we saw him in 2000.
