you describe his tone very passionately! i love Elton - he is sooo talented and his own person! love him! and his melodic tones. and your right his voice is at its height during those times! still amazing but so rich then!
Easily in my Top 10 amongst Elton's favorites. I love his voice. That deep, seductive lower register. My gosh, his voice was at its peak between 1982 and 1985, it had developed such a rich, manly timbre and his falsetto was more controlled and less shaky and pitchy. If only he didn't get those legions on his vocal chords, then his voice today would be a lot richer and clearer. Of course, he could've done without the drugs, too. Still, an incredibly blessed talent.
How come he never play's these song back to back? I love how he add's the closing chords of Blue Eyes after I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues!
You know, as if there isn't enough hate in the world, you have to bash a man who's written and performed some of the most beautiful and entertaining music of our time. Whatever your personal preferences or differences are, doesn't he deserve at least some respect? You can't look past one thing to see another? How shallow.
Beautifully put......the last thing we need in the world is more hatred. Elton John is the reason why I learned to play the piano...his legacy will greater than any hate-filled homophobic comments...
What ever happened to Elton John, the sweet faggot that could play marvelously, blindfolded, and could write and sing songs that made everyone cry like a redhead at a chick flick? This thundering queer that we see now, who's apparently immune to aids, and despite being a peer of the realm, "married" a guy. Infected all his boy toys. 'Sir' Elton, what a bad joke inflicted on HRM Elizabeth II! I miss the guy that wrote 'Tiny Dancer'...
yeah, really. where is this screaming cheese merchant bender now? one second he's wearing donald duck get up to please the imbecilic syphilitic US crowds and the next he's whinging away candle in the rectum song at the royal assassination parties. for a bit he fiddled with the butch extreme lez club tennis chicks with dicks being their little ball boy, the next he's marrying little boys in the Caribbean retreats with Rich Cliff, the eternal UK icon, and Blair, the EU prez and biggest butcher.
was this the summer of 84 concert? Where Elton finnished off his world tour? If so i remember that day very well indeed.Stood for 12 Hours on the pitch watching all the bands who played that day,Brilliant day,Brings back a lot of good memories...
I was AT the concert and loved every moment. Whether you truly like his music, Elton is an amazing performer. Thanks for posting this! - YouTube is amazing!!!

It doesn't get much better than this. The lip-syncing performers of today are a complete joke to what we used to be treated to.

Arguably one of the best live performers of all time.

it's pretty ironic that you're throwing a fit about elton's sexuality on a video that was filmed while he was married to a girl
