The primary reason that the Mass was codified in Latin is because Latin is a dead language which leaves no room for misinterpretation. Everything is deliberate. Even one word can change an entire meaning, like the Latin word "ut" which was left out of the New Rite. Leaving that word out eliminates the meaning which provides the powers of a priest, translated as "so that he has the power to".
@dlaz0109 I don't know if it is in Canon Law; however, one must be careful as the VII council has also changed various Canon Laws. I wish I had my references in front of me, but there are several. If you merely Google priestly ordination changes, new vs old 1968, (or something to that effect), there are several links which can explain, and even set the two ordination rites side by side, in comparison. One also needs to know that it's not merely the changes in rites, but the Mass, Catholicism.

@dlaz0109 Finally, I realize that Google/Youtube and the likes are hardly 'evidence' or proof of what I say and may never convince you. I was once in your shoes as well, a cradle Novus Ordoite. I recommend info by Gerry Matatics, a former Protestant minister turned Catholic. Explains it all in great detail. It was very difficult to leave behind what I had believed was Catholic, when in fact was not. There is so much more all of this, and I pray the Holy Ghost will guide the both of you.

@dlaz0109 Not only the priestly ordination rites, and the Mass, but other rites as well. The primary reason that the Mass was codified in Latin is because Latin is a dead language which leaves no room for misinterpretation. Everything is deliberate. Even one word can change an entire meaning, like the Latin word "ut" which was left out of the New Rite. Leaving that word out eliminates the meaning which provides the powers of a priest, translated as "so that he has the power to".

@dlaz0109 I don't know if it is in Canon Law; however, one must be careful as the VII council has also changed various Canon Laws. I wish I had my references in front of me, but there are several. If you merely Google priestly ordination changes, new vs old 1968, (or something to that effect), there are several links which can explain, and even set the two ordination rites side by side, in comparison. One also needs to know that it's not merely the changes in rites, but the Mass, Catholicism.

@tohotohandle1 Next, Ordination rites were changed in 1968, replacing them with the Anglican (Protestant) rite. VII 'ordained priests' are no more than Protestant ministers. They do not have priestly powers. Can you define "Novus Ordo" (as referred to the new 'mass'?) It means NEW ORDER--which is entirely OPPOSITE of the definition of CATHOLIC: for all ages, all time, Universal. I dare you to disprove anything I've posted with Catholic Doctrine.

As a young man perhaps he was as silly and foolish as you are now (I know I was). I'm not sure that douchebag is a word I'd use to describe Fr Corapi, but he's definitely said some things that makes me go, "huh??" But....I do overall like him quite a bit, too. That said, I found this really enjoyable for some reason.
And this probably won't mean anything to you, you being a dude and not a vain little chickie and all, but that's totally your angle and lighting ;)

Your opinion was colorful and you seem to be a pretty cool guy. Someday I hope you have the opportunity to learn your faith . That will be a great day for you when you discover that Father Corapi knew a lot more than just military tactics and manuevers. He is a humble man, inspired teacher of God.
