This is the first "gothic" monument in the world and the beginning of the building of all great gothic cathedrals. Cathedral of Sens was the second one. St Louis get married there.
The tombs were sacked during the first French revolution, so there aren't any nobles actually buried there except from after that time. This is on my street and is a great place to visit.
I live right down the street from this. It is, technically speaking, the world's first gothic cathedral, and was the number one place of Christian pilgrimage in France for about a thousand years. Visitors to Paris who miss Saint-Denis are making a big mistake! I came here to see this church and stayed. Oh, no kings and queens are actually buried here anymore. The tombs were emptied during the first French Revolution, in the 18th century.

Actually, the pit where the bodies were placed was dug up and the remains placed behind a panel with all the names of the dead on it.
