  • Love the DRESS

  • I wish it were bigger like the movie but my gawd this is absolutely AMAZING!!!! it deserves some type of award! Beautiful and very very well made! What are the sleeves made out of? Wonderful job! Thanx for your wonderful video!

  • @DanceLoveLily

Yes alas I bought the biggest hoop I could find on the internet at didn't know how to make one, but becuase i am so short only 1m 50cm tall, mum had to cut the last ring off the bottom becuase it was dragging across the floor, even so it is pretty heavy at this size. Any bigger and I could not be able to get out of the room, you know Amy had to get dressed in a very very large tent in the middle of new york. I did win cosplay 2011 if you look at my other videos.

    Thanks indeed.

  • its official, i want that dress

  • Fabulous dress, all the work really paid off. You can definitely fulfill the role in the movie or a Disney parade as you model the dress very well. Thanks for the tutorial on making this dress, this deserves an award or some kind of honorable mention.

  • Great job ya'll, u look so pretty in it :)

  • i want this dress to be my wedding dress!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @surferdude3451

Don't we all, If I had my way and knew how to make a bigger hoop it wold have been as big as hers in the movie, but alas I would never get through the door. Did you kow they actually made 11 versions of the dress some in shorter lengths, for the biggest version they made, she had to get dressed in a large tent in New York city.

  • @Traybuff

To make a bigger hoop, you'd need 3/4 inch steel boning, and would also need to get the circumferences of each hoop.

  • @msaoichan

Ah yes I have had a quick look, but busy for christmas more than anything at the minute. I would like that steel that they make my hoops from that you can callapse and fold away, do they call it spring steel, becuase it does spring a lot?

    Thanks from Tracy

  • @Traybuff

Spring steel boning is called that because it is the type of steel used to make watch-springs. It can be used to make hoops, but only up to a certain size before they are unable to hold their shape.

  • @msaoichan

Hi, you seem to know more than I do, I have tried to go into your profile but can't find where to send a message to save posting reply's through comments. I really would like to make one of those big hoops that the German girls on youtube have witht the 10 rings. What I do notice is that the rings on those arn't so far apart as the hoops that I buy which are like 8-9" apart. Like this titled (Putting on a crinolinedress ) on youtube by someone called mmedujard.

  • @Traybuff

Should be the Channel comments section on the Right.

The reason why the both mmedujard's and magicskirts' crinolines have less space and more hoops is to distribute the weight of both the petticoats and the dress.

  • I luv the sleeve puffs

  • how much did the dress cost

  • I love that dress

  • @winnlikecharlie

Thanks, I did too the moment I saw it. I did start off with a 6 bone hoop skirt but becuase i'm only 1m 52cm tall the last ring had to be chopped of becuase it was draging along the floor, alas it would have been even wider at the bottom, but still the weight is only just bareable, so maybe it's for the better. Amy's hoop was massive, I bet she was releived to get out of it. Thanks for noticing the video.

  • Awesome!!! If you don't mind, How to make the ruffles? Thank you before :)

  • @kyla92548802

May I ask what the questions marks are and where the comment is, please.

  • That's Beautiful Gown!!!

  • amazing dress!

  • Thanks for the comment, I went to disneyworld last year, but alas she is not in the Parade any more, was extrmely disapointed as it took me 12 years to save.

  • my i add this video to my chanel

  • Hi i'm not sure what that means, forgive me but technology is not my thing. I have to have help putting the videos on becuase I have no idea. I don't know what all these other wizzy things are you can do on here it's all very confusing. All I know is that my video is showing, so at least i've got that far.

If you want to send a message instead to explain to me what a Chanel means, then I can reply there as you can type more.

    Thanks

    Tracy

  • That is one gorgeous dress, and I truly hope that you get a lot of pleasure in wearing it, you deserve it, something that beautiful should not be worn once and then kept in a muslin bag hiding in a dark closet. Don't let my nickname fool you, but I also have made a few "big" dresses in my time for girl friends who couldn't sew a button to save themselves, so I really know how much work goes into something as beautiful as that dress, you are one very talented lady.

  • @bushranger51

wow thanks very much, i'm affraid some of the credit goes to mum becuase I only know so much & she has to fit it on me properly to fit, which is something that obviously can't do myself. Mum is teaching me & half of each costume we make is done by both of us. It is very hard making costumes, I had trouble finding a bigger hoop for this dress & could only buy a 6 bone one of ebay, though I would like it a little bigger, i'm worried about getting through the door if it was.

  • @Traybuff yeah hoops are a bugger to get used to working with and I presume wearing. You and your talented Mum might give thought to a lot of netting to try as an underskirt, or maybe as an extra petticoat as there are plenty of comercial patterns available if you want fullness in the dress, maybe a combination of bridal and the stiffer type might do the trick. Please forgive me for not including your mum in my praise, that was an oversight by me and I offer my wrist for spanking.

  • Hi, with a lot of trouble, I am currently having help making a website for my costumes with tutorial's, but it's taking a while. For now though if you visit cosplay.com

type Giselle in the search box & you will lots of people dressed as Giselle, scroll to page 3, my Nickname in the box is Pink Princess.Click me & when the page loads, go to right hand side of the page & Click GALLERIES. Now you will see 6 pages of my individual costumes & the album titles. Giselle is page 2 for tutorials

  • its loveley how did you make it

  • Long curled hair really does suit you!

And the dress looks amazing with and without the sleeves, too. Wow! Wonderful work! You and your mother are wonderful seamstresses :)

  • Hi, no I have not shown the giselle Dress off as yet. I will be going to Telfrod Midlands Expo on Saturday 19th February 2011, I hope they will be doing the cosplay competition to enter it into.

If it's a London expo your talking about, then no as London is too far for us & my costumes are delicate & require a lot of parts needing 3 people to carry them sometimes.

Especially this one, as Telford is only half an hour from me it will be easy to park just outside & mum can dress me.

    Thanks

  • OMG did u wear that to MCM Expo oct Sunday 2010 becuz I think I saw u and the dress is amazing :D

  • I hope you have the chance to wear that to a cosplay convention or something, because that dress is absolutely beautiful and you look gorgeous as Giselle. :D

  • wowww the amount of effort...but it's really brilliant. too bad you can't wear it too often...

  • you are so talented! well done!

  • That is absolutely stunning. And should you ever choose to sell it, it will be worth a fortune.

  • Beautiful work!

  • Amazing. You deserve such a beautiful dress after all that effort.

  • Thank you very, took a long time & watched the dvd endlessly in slow motion, trying to spot every tinyest detail. The organza ruffles were a challenge. There was a scene in the movie when Giselle is coming up the subway & the wind blows her ruffles. You could see each ruffle had been gathered & ran verticly down the skirt, pretty complex.

Thanks very much for wathcing the vid.

    Tracy

  • This is very beautiful! Where did you get the wig?
